Faking Goooooooodddddddddddddddd
I usually play games my husband wants to play and most are mid. This game is top tier for me. Best level of scary.
Un jeu d'horreur, de travail d'equipe et de communication incroyable...le tout dans le contextemet l'ambiance de cthulhu!
Simple trick that doesn't last, very one dimensional. Would recommend if it was cheaper.
Along the years I've played a lot of Lovecraftian slop but The Mound isn't one of those and actually delivers a fun coop experience! Gameplay loop is simple enough plays as a 1500's shipmate on the trails of a missing expedition who was in search of treasure and found this mysterious place called The Mound. Now you need to go out scavenge for supplies, treasures and clues on how to reach this location. Trick is with any Lovecraftian tale you'll be greeted by eldritch horrors of both the mental and cosmic side of things. Gameplay videos reveal enough, but the highlight of this game is the hallucination system that constantly has people on guard questioning if what they're seeing is real. Stray to far from the pack? Game might spawn a doppelganger of your buddy, you distracted/disoriented start speaking to it instead of the actual player and it ends up throwing you in a river. Horror Comedy Gold. Granted this novelty wears off after some time after you learn the games tricks but it lasted long enough to still be tricking us late into our games. Game is extremely light on the cutscenes, story is told mostly told threw a narrator reading threw the logs you find. Interesting stuff and it brings that ''narrating from a log'' feel a lot of Lovecrafts stories do. Gameplay is fine if you know what to come to expect from a survival horror games. Don't expect to be overpowered cause you'll be rationing resources threwout. Game has plenty of maps to explore and memorize and again are disorienting enough to not feel repetitive. Enemies are a fine batch albeit easy to deal with. Given the price point I think its a really good multiplayer title with some minor quirks that need fixing and overall excited for its future and absolutely hoping for DLC or a Sequel. It would be nice to actually recreate a scenario like in the one from Lovecraft's story set in Oklahoma in the 1900s where theres a village set up next to that locations Mound. Retreat to town after each expedition, talk to the towns folk stuff like that to expand on the world building. Game is a 9.5/10 but only with friends game is pretty boring single player wise. The novelty hear again is the game messing with your group dynamics.
J'aime le jeux mais BEAUCOUP trop de bug, crash en fin de mission, son qui se coupe, revivre sous la map et donc mourir. Franchement, corriger ca en priorité c'est invivable

so far im loving the vibe of this game, as a child i remember fondly playing rock of ages several times over, and now as an adult you continue to please, this game still has plenty to improve on though, more uses for tokens, more enemy types, a better unstuck mechanic, and a few other things. im looking forward to how much better this game can become

ACE Team always delivers some very interesting and creative experiences, been a fan of their games for years and I love supporting a developer from Chile (Latin America) which we need more of! The game has a really interesting coop survival horror vibes where you NEED to work together in order to succeed, if you stray too far from other players you might end up lost or succumbing to the more supernatural elements like seeing hallucinations or dealing with powerful enemies that ambush you from all sides. Team work is important, so communication with the other players is the key to making a successful expedition. In terms of downsides, I feel like the game still needs to fix and work on a lot of issues like hit boxes, buggy enemies and some performance issues. The graphics look fantastic but in order to run things smoothly I had to lower them to their lowest setting, otherwise, the game's performance drops to a crawl. I hope people give it a chance and ACE Team can resolve the issues. 8/10
