I have mixed feelings about this one. I was able to solve every puzzle on my own, but I felt many levels too quickly devolved into trial and error because the twists on the basic line-fill formula all visually obfuscated my pathfinding. The first twist is launchers that send you in a direction until the first landing pad you hit. These are usually fine on their own, except that some levels place landing pads in spots that no launchers can reach anyway. That is, there are extraneous elements whose only purpose is visual distraction, which is not something I prefer in puzzle games. The second twist is blockers that prevent movement in a direction once you enter their space, but move with you and change position as you roll around. For example, if one blocks northwest movement and you roll one space east, it will then block northeast movement. Trying to anticipate their exact positions multiple moves ahead was not something I enjoyed, and it often seemed more efficient to casually experiment with different routes until I hit upon something promising. The third twist is linked spaces that spawn clones once you enter one of them. These clones move with you simultaneously, matching your movements. Normally this would be fine, but adding launchers means that clones' paths will become desynchronized, making it visually difficult to map out a common route for all of them. To the game's credit, even some puzzles combining all three twists arrange their elements such that you can identify bottlenecks to narrow down possible approaches, but I'm not sure this is enough for me to recommend the game unless the above points are non-issues for you. So, in the absence of a neutral option, I'm marking this review as negative.
I'm 16 puzzles in so far and honestly I just want to say how much I LOVE this game. It's amazing. It feels so satisfying to play, every click and drag of the mouse feels weighty, with effects and sounds that match perfectly, reverting puzzles is a joy to watch, and every time I get stuck on a puzzle I have a really satisfying little moment when I work it out. The ambient sound is so nice to listen to and doesn't distract at all, it sets the mood perfectly. I'm also completely in love with the style and graphics. Really, I didn't expect so much for £2.09. I'm excited to play more tomorrow and see where the puzzles go and how the story unfolds. I can't recommend this game enough. Highly, highly recommended! --- Edit after completing the game: Still stand by what I said. I adore this game, the puzzles develop really nicely and the story surprisingly completely captured me. I love, love, love this game. I wish I could forget it so I could play it again for the first time.
A superb puzzle game! The puzzles are fun and make you think! They're not too complicated either.
Soft recommend. Details: The concept is good, story is a bit odd but I have no problems with it. My only issue is that the puzzle design can get really dry sometimes. Some of the puzzles are great, the ones that make you utilize some clever logical insights to dramatically reduce the solution space. Some of the puzzles are just logical "connect-the-dots" where it's not difficult but you have to take notes and try a ton of paths until you find the right one. There are only a handful of puzzles, and due to the way the game is structured, if you get stuck on one of the dry ones, progression can feel slow. Better level design would make this a strong recommend for me.
just finished it. It is a sweet and very short Puzzle game consisting of 36 levels, each one being fun and some even being a bit challenging, but nothing crazily difficult. Was very nice for a short experience. Only issue I have is that at the time of this review the achievements are bugged and not obtainable. Will still recommend this.
A short puzzle game about a machine that wonders why it exists. It's worth playing, with my only real complaint being that you might not naturally find out how to undo moves (if you're wondering, click on a path to do so).
It was worth the time and the money.
A short, engaging puzzler that nails the tactile aspect: I felt like I was playing with a physical board at times. The mechanics honestly aren't that deep, and I felt like I was just searching a large space of possible moves towards the end, but the game did not overstay its welcome.
