The Last Exodus

This game looks nice, but a lot of absolutely essential core components are missing. The mechanics are poorly explained, the tutorial is riddled with typos and grammar mistakes, making it hard to understand...and once you do wrap your head around the system, there are bugs and the interface is impenetrable in some respects. They're close to a playable game, but they're not there yet. I hope they give the game a major overhaul and fix it up, as there are a few elements that could be really neat if they built a quality experience to support them.

This game has so much potential. This plays like an Alpha of a AA studio game. I love the graphics and ship designs and the gameplay is quite fun, albeit slow. I also love all the potential the systems have to be expanded. The only serious con is the speed of the game is egregiously slow. I could see people quitting. The dialog needs to be faster and each window skippable (not just the whole cinematic). Quite a few animations seem to have lag before and after selecting. I think if the game were considerably sped up it would get more plays. I also see the dev posted a letter saying after 3 months they haven't seen much interest, so they're dropping the project. That's a damn shame. With that said, if I were the dev I'd be very proud of this. I hope to see more, but I understand not wanting to work on a game if no one's playing it. That said, with so many games out there, it's hard to expect people to play a game that's not really in a playable state.

This is misleading, a shady way to market a for-profit product, and misleading gamers for profit is wrong. The product this is advertising,[i]The Last Exodus[/i] is an abandoned early access, really badly made turn based tactical game trying badly to wear a "Master of Orion" like skin, but really it looks like it's made with undeclared AI slop images, sloppy writing full of grammatical errors, and absurdly awful, barely working "attack that hex" type gameplay. ... But this isn't The Last Exodus, it's just an ad for it. If you really like adverts, you can get them for free on Youtube, in your browser... heck even online streaming video subscriptions have ads now. Why download and install another advertisement? The goal here is to get you to spend [b]$5 USD[/b] on [i]The Last Exodus[/i]. I don't recommend you get suckered, or reward these kinds of shady, deliberately misleading marketing practices. They're harmful to everyone. The developers gave up on this 2 years and 8 months ago. It's destined to remain unfinished. This junkware is just polluting Steam and making it difficult for gamers to fully finished, completed games. That's not good for gamers. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. As an advertisement, this is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking in some cash. Just because advertisements are free, doesn't mean they're worth your time. It's important to understand there's a formal process to create a demo/page for a game which hasn't been followed here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos While it might seem like an innocuous mistake, publishing demos and advertisements as if they are full games is misleading and in some ways harmful. This advertisement is taking up marketing space and visibility that would be better made available to a developer that's done the right thing and created a full game. Instead, that visibility is given over to a demo/advert that's been published incorrectly and is polluting the marketplace. It's unclear if this mistake was made through incompetence or a deliberate intent to mislead gamers. Often developers may choose to incorrectly publish demo/advertisements as separate games as a cheap way to bypass paying Valve for marketing presence on the Steam front page, which may seem clever to them, but it's harmful behaviour and it's not good for gamers. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at [b]only 6 concurrent players[/b]... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Advertisements and incorrectly published demos don't add +1 to your game collector count, they aren't full games. It's impossible for me to recommend this incorrectly published advertising spam to gamers, you deserve better than adverts.

Good game, and the price of full version is considerable (though I will buy this on sale) It's my first time playing hex grid chess on PC, I've played chess of space battle on PSP, that's R-Type Strategic, some points are the same: different scales of units, pinpoint attack on capital ships, and heading influenced battle, the difference is, this game give all units certain amount of chances to act in a round, R-Type Strategic use a AP gauge shared by all units, that means a unit acts too much will result other units having no chance to act, someone may like this design, but I prefer the mechanism used in The Last Exodus. Custom units may not a fresh thing in other type of games, such as RTS and ARTS, but it is rare to see unit customization on strategic chess, slow-paced games such as idle games or turn-based games heavily rely on numeric system, providing players with freedom of tweaking units may greatly influence the numeric system which may cause polarization of different choice (useless customization and imbalanced customization), this might impair the fun of game, I looking forward to the full game and wish dev could handle this problem neatly. Avatars of characters seems like being generated by AI.

ИИ иногда принимает не самые рациональные решения, а интерфейс мог бы быть более интуитивным. Кроме того, некоторым игрокам может показаться, что темп игры медленный. В целом, "The Last Exodus" – это достойная игра для любителей стратегий и градостроительных симуляторов. Она предлагает интересный сюжет, захватывающий геймплей и ретро-атмосферу. Несмотря на некоторые недостатки, игра оставляет положительное впечатление и заставляет задуматься о будущем человечества.
