I have almost nothing bad to say about this game, it has crashed couple times and i had to save and exit couple times to make 1 mission work. Other than that the game is working very good as a early access. When they add more stuff and hopefully multiplayer it'll be even better. This game with friends would be amazing.
Me: "Oh, I'm level 12, recycled all scrap in the starting area, and my boat has half a dozen medium batteries with some level two solar panels and turbines on it. I should probably start the main quest and see what this Lazarus Complex is about. Now, where on the boat do I store my forklift?" The game is sometimes buggy, especially around graphics. It seems to switch to my iGPU sometimes, rather than render on my dGPU. And I've gotten stuck on something I was trying to climb over three times. Almost had to reload older saves. But this is a fantastic game. It scratches a similar itch as Satisfactory for me, although they are very different games.
I think this is a good combination of world building and survival. I like going around in a boat and fixing things and getting materials to launch humans into space. I like the creatures I have to fight to clean out area's, I think they did a good job.
Great game but needs serious optimization. I'm going to sit back until they patch it; the crashes and frame drops in certain parts of the map are killer.
Storyline, graphics, surprises, challenges and the list goes on. You can play the game in so many ways. I’m doing a lot of exploring and discovery instead of following the story line real closely. That is part of why it is so good. You play the way that you enjoy. Right now, I have over 200 hours of game play and I like it even more than when I started.
The game is insanely entertaining and can definitely hold my attention(when i am not constantly working 12s) but my god does it crash a LOT. I've gotten corrupted saves multiple times because the game legit crashes when manually saving or Alt + Tabbing out of the game.
One of the best games i ever played, the scenery is stunning, the easter eggs and sheer amount of secret passages and such are cool, it goes outside the box. And sure, still has some bugs now and then, make sure to save progress just in case. Anyway, the best upgrades it could get now, for me, would be more and better enemies, different boats and the option to haul out and re-organize the boat you have (with the new upgraded conections for example)
Its a very good game, however unfinished, obviously. If your looking for a finished game then dont touch it yet, if your looking for a good one, then do play. also human creation is a pain
The only thing that game is missing is co-op. For a game that is early access, it is really polished, it runs smooth, the graphics are nice and the gameplay loop is fun and rewarding.
development lurches along, and there are some genuinely great moments here, but some basic mechanics are woefully undercooked (inventory management, UI/UX for crafting) and the newer features (whale, Helicopter) are either undertested or under optimized. controlling the gyro is near impossible with kb/m, which can lead to you being stranded at the bottom of a silo. the whale is frequently stuck in terrain or under POIs. the humans you make are infuriatingly difficult to manage - you'll find yourself reading reddit to understand how to use the showcase mechanics and stop hating the game, which just isnt fun for me : I dont want to be alt tabbing to read "whale stuck?" or "how to not crash gyrocopter" or "human recipe requirements calculator". genuinely hoping the devs do some sort of QA pass - there's a lot to like, but I fear its another open-world-craft game destined to die because the ambition doesnt match the delivery.
