The Henry Stickmin Collection is what happens when someone gives a criminal a stick figure body, absolutely no survival instincts, and an unlimited supply of terrible ideas.
You play as Henry Stickmin, a professional at escaping prisons, robbing banks, infiltrating government facilities, and generally making decisions that would get a normal person sentenced to several hundred years.
The gameplay is simple: choose an option and watch Henry attempt it.
And by “attempt,” I mean fail spectacularly.
Want to use a teleporter?
Fails.
Rocket launcher?
Fails.
A mysterious blue item you've never seen before?
Obviously use it.
Half the fun is choosing the wrong option just to see how creatively Henry can die. The game practically rewards stupidity.
The animations are hilarious, the writing is full of references and absurd jokes, and the sheer number of endings means you'll constantly be thinking:
"Okay, surely THIS is the correct option."
It isn't.
The game also has a fantastic sense of continuity. Your decisions can carry over between episodes, meaning Henry's previous crimes can come back to haunt him.
Or, more accurately, your previous bad decisions can come back to haunt Henry.
The funniest part is that Henry somehow manages to survive things that should have killed him approximately 47 times over. Getting launched into space? Fine. Falling from a skyscraper? Probably fine. Being shot directly in the face?
Apparently just another Tuesday.
The Henry Stickmin Collection is chaotic, creative, ridiculously funny, and one of the few games where getting the worst possible ending can be more entertaining than winning.
10/10 Every choice is wrong, but at least the failure animations are incredible.
