The Green Room Experiment (Episode 1)

Un excellent Escape Game (Dream) Français. La sensation d'être dans un rêve est vraiment bien faite, avec ces grands espace, son ambiance atmosphérique et son game design contre intuitif. On a l'impression d'être baladé entre Backrooms et Liminal Space le tout séparé par des puzzles vraiment sympa et bien pensés. Not very good. Visuals are fine, but a lot of the art-work look AI generated. I am not saying it is, but it looks like it. The puzzles are OK, but the game controls are awful. shift+right click to go back!? It also does not save your progress within a puzzle, so if you have to do something else before you have finished one puzzle, be prepared to do all of it over again. Could have used some more game testing too, since the UI completely borks itself if your resolution does not match one of the predefined ones. I soft-locked myself by changing to one of the predefined resolutions that did not match my screen (my screen did not have enough resolution on Y-axis) which meant that I could not reach the "Apply" button when I tried to change the resolution back. Should be noted that I played this in Linux.

I tried so hard to like this game. I want to like this game. I just can't. I'm either stupid, missed something, my game is glitched, or the puzzle subjectivity is too overbearing. Either way, I couldn't get passed the first (or second?) puzzle in the Cathedral. I feel like that developers leaned hard into the puzzle design from their own head without realizing it's way too subjective, That said, even with the very little time I had outside of that puzzle, the potential story was cool and if the above isn't an issue for you, the game is probably pretty good.
