tcoaal is a really good game that is sadly pretty misunderstood. It's really well written, and there’s a lot more to it than people might realize. I wish people would give it a chance and pay attention to the story, because then you will really appreciate how well-written it is. of course incest isn't a beautiful thing, but it is an horror game and it also contains stuff like cannibalism, lol. I don't get why people draw the line at incest. the incest isn’t really romanticized like many people think either, it’s portrayed as a consequence of childhood neglect, trauma, and the characters’ circumstances. Imo that aspect actually makes the story more disturbing and deeper because it adds another layer to the characters and their relationship. andrew was forced into a caretaker role from a young age, having to look after ashley when the people who should have been there for them weren’t. ashley wasn't a "good child" like andrew was and grew up feeling like she had no one she could truly depend on except her brother. It's an incredibly unhealthy attachment where the person who is supposed to be your family becomes your entire world. they’re both products of an environment where their emotional needs were neglected and their boundaries became distorted. you can find their relationship disturbing while still recognizing that the writing is trying to explore why these characters became the way they are.
I also really like the soundtracks and the artstyle (andrew is so hot)
side-characters like julia are also awesome and well-written.
overall I can just say: It is a very overhated, misunderstood game. If you think of playing it, then you absolutely should give it a try!!
