I was a really big fan of the previous game, but I have to admit, I cannot recommend this one. Really uninspired puzzles, really poorly made action section to pad for time (to prevent refunds?), not to mentioned broken achievements. Performance absolutely tanks in some sections, to unplayable levels depending on your GPU. Considering there were issues brought up before the launch and those haven't even been fixed, I doubt it will get better, but here's hoping. For now, this is a hard miss even on sale.
My SO and I played the demo a while ago, gave feedback on issues, but still found them in the full release of the game. The concept of the game is okay, but nothing ground-breaking. The main issue was that most of the time, the objectives were not obvious and that the game was unfairly difficult. My partner and I had trouble picking up certain objects, like torches, we could still collide with the falling stones,
the enemy that would follow us around
was excessively loud, etc. There were some occasions where a puzzle was very irritating to complete
(the last sequence of the room with the sarcophagus, where you have to throw the Ankh at buttons, and the last part of the game, where you have to do parkour, but stay at the same speed with your partner)
. We really wanted to enjoy the game, like we did the previous project of the developer, but unfortunately, while we played this game, we only looked back at the fun we had with the previous one and it's interesting concept.
It's only going downhill after the first few puzzles, refunded.
Nice except on every aspect.
This game is a mess. I love co-op puzzles game and went in very excited. The first room took a while for me and my partner to figure out and was somewhat interesting. The second room I'll be honest I have no clue what we were doing but my partner figured it out. The third section was where it all went wrong. I should mention, the controls were broken for me. W and S were both forward. A and D were both right. I could NOT rebind it to fix it. In the menu it would say S is back and a is left but they went forward/right. Nothing I did would fix the controls to give me a back and left key. Because of this weird error it was near impossible for me to actually navigate the section quickly as you're required to. I don't think I can recommend the game with how much even trying to play the game frustrated me and my friend with how little sense it started to make after the first room.
We've been at it for a few hours and it has been a lot of fun and laughs. We had already tried the previous game with skeletons and whilst it was nice, this one has a clear "upgrade" feeling to it. It is a nice combination of escape game meets Indiana Jones, with a good mix of frustration and reward, which is imo what games should bring to the table. Also, making fun of your partner for getting pierced by spears like a noob will always be fun.
Poorly designed game. Ex. First few minutes of the game -> place button throws the item instead of the throw button. As soon as host moves triggers an obnoxious loud loop of floor caving in and monster hopping out. I say loop because if you don't immediately move a few more steps you fall threw the floor to restart. GO too many steps also the same. You have to figure out from no actual indicator where to stand, where to jump etc. Animation is not optimized - even for this style it's choppy (it's not my gaming rig), everything is YELLOW, there are collision physics so if while running/jumping down the hall you bump your buddy say goodbye to the world and start the loop AGAIN. Many things would make the idea of this game work, but the execution of how it was designed to play and it's technicalities make it painful to play. (P.S. received a copy from a friend)
I really wanted to recommand this game because i really like this kind of game but i really can't... Everything is fine at the beginning of the game, you do a few puzzle and they are not too easy nor too difficult. The problem start around chapter 10
when a mummy will chase you every 30 seconds so 1 player is stuck running away from the mommy and cannot look at the puzzle. It would have been fine if it was for only one room but it's not the case. The mommy was still chasing us after 3 rooms. I'm not sure if it stay like that for the rest of the game because it was too frustrating so i stopped playing and ask for a refund.
I had a lot of bug in the game as well. (Losing sound, Changing control doesn't save at all and FPS drops.)
Jolis graphiques, les énigmes sont difficiles sans être trop difficiles. Grosse amélioration par rapport au jeu précédent ! Je valide
Tons of fun
