i love this but my eyes aren't in their prime anymore and can't keep up
I really like the combination of vaporwave and psx aesthetics. Atmosphere in this game looks really good, you might not like it if you're not into the design they went with. Levels do look nice and the level design for the most part seems pretty good, but the second level (or the first main level in the hub) can get convoluted due to foliage, you could get lost since a lot of the environment you can enter, however you will find your way through. Combat is fine for the most part, you get unlimited ammo and enemies pretty much drop like flies, however some lasers can hit you through walls, enemies can trap you in corners making hitboxes a bit wonky at times, and some cheap placement. The only real challenge with enemies is the main boss. During the last level I died and the game sent me back to the previous level, this is the only real bug I experienced during the whole game. I would give Terra Atlantis a recommendation. It's free, will take under an hour to complete, good aesthetics, fine combat, and works perfectly on Linux. I don't see you losing anything by giving this a shot.

As a huge vaporwave lover enjoyed this game much. The atmosphere is so there. Just stayed in the garden lobby for several minutes to feel it. The design and music do the work. The lore foundation is something special, deserves to be extended. Breathtaking experience.
Great game. Hope for more.
It's just chronically dull.

Amazing game with a beautiful story about a people settling the stars. Searching for where their ancient, marble, Hellenic deities departed to after feeling at a loss for the love of their creations. You land on Terra Atlantis and discover lush forests. Ethereal, glowing, Doric cities. The halls are filled with seemingly living modern symbols of Human creation. They're beautiful, oddly reminiscent of the idyll. But they're violent. So you must slay the newest transcendent creations of your fled Gods. The world, beatific and bewitching, yet deadly and fearful. A love letter from your gods that bites. As you continue deeper, you feel, ever closer to finding the grace of your gods again. Their golden images to be set in marble once again, as the searching people arrive at the good news. But part of you feels that perhaps the gods are gone from this world as well. This planet perhaps, another abandoned creation, who's inhabitants fight back against their ethereal ancestors in hopes of making the deities happy. What answers will you find? What answers will find you? Weapon play is tight and your gun fires semi auto so lots of clicking. Checkpoints can be annoying, but when you realize it's about speed, you can zip through. Pick it up. Search for them.
It's a borderline review, overall I give it a positive because I've had fun playing through it and because it's a nice concept. Pros: - Great, fairly unique art style - Rare thing in gaming to see an (almost) vapourwave theme - Amazingly enjoyable OST - Decently challenging but not pointlessly hard gameplay - Free (which is lovely, I might pay for this if it was a bit longer) Cons: - Tab and File enemies are REALLY annoying just because of the damage effect on the player - Final level boots the player to random earlier levels if failed at the end, which really pissed me off for a minute - Retro, but annoying HUD with bare minimum settings - Game settings reset after rebooting the game - Prologue and Epilogue are very long and unskippable for a replay of the game
