Tengin Music Engine

Review was originally negative, but developer fixed part of, and is working on the rest of the issues that I complained about here, So it works pretty well for what it is, can't really complain too much especially since the game is free and still in development.

Honestly, one of the best indie games that I've played in a long time. Worth a play,

"Tengin Music Engine" is a badly slapped together bit of junkware on Steam. Barely a game, this is instead a glorified MP3 player that uses "AI" to throw random Unreal assets at you that you can shoot. Why? There's no reason why. This is just someone spending $100 on dumping some garbage on Steam in the hopes it will "go viral" and they'll become a millionaire from the toxic MTX they intended to infest the game with. Not okay. Anyway this barely counts as a game, there's nothing to do but play MP3s and click... it's, frankly, dumb. The developers abandoned this 1 year and 8 months ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. The game assets here look a lot better than the actual game they're assembled on... that doesn't mean this is necessarily an asset flip or a kitbash, because there's no proof. But what matters is that this has all the same terrible quality as asset flips, and at the end of the day that's one of the reasons people don't like asset flips, the quality is bad. That's a problem .Now on to pricing and value for gamers. So this is "free", but it's abandoned. Worse, it was never intended to be free. The developer intended to charge for this through a toxic mobile app like cash shop if it ever left Early Access... but the developer just couldn't be bothered. Making this abandoned pollution that gamers need to filter through when searching for products made by more ethical developers who fulfill their promise to deliver on their Early Access commitment instead of breaking that promise. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at [b]only 5 concurrent players[/b]... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Given that this free title won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library? I think you should give this one a miss. Although it's free, your time and storage are valuable resources, and the market is filled with superior options.
