Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge

This is a fantastic game that truly bridges generations. It plays just like a classic arcade beat ’em up — simple to pick up, fast, fun, and incredibly addictive — while still feeling fresh enough for younger players. Old-school arcade fans will feel right at home with the tight controls, colorful visuals, and nonstop action. At the same time, it’s accessible and exciting for kids, making it a perfect family game. I’ve had some amazing sessions playing together with my son, and those moments alone make it worth it. With four players, the game turns into absolute chaos in the best possible way — pure fun, lots of laughs, and that unmistakable arcade energy where everyone’s shouting and mashing buttons at once. By the end of a session, it really does feel like yelling, “Shredder, your days are numbered!” and diving right back in for more. If you’re looking for a game that respects its arcade roots while delivering genuine, shared fun across generations, this one absolutely nails it.

I have mixed feelings about the Ninja Turtles brand, but putting that aside, objectively this is one of the best more recent beatemups out there, keeping the emphasis about timing and crowd control and mostly not over relying on gimmicks like super armor or fighting game mechanics (beatemups and fighting games are NOT the same thing) and beautiful sprite art It's aimed at just the right level for someone's first slightly more challenging beatemup. My only complaint is the music is a bit jarring at times. Now don't misunderstand me, I'm not calling the music bad, I'm just saying the tone shift sometimes is wild.
