I have been hoping for a game in this style for over two decades. This game covers almost everything that I miss from playing Ninety-Nine Nights, Kingdom Under Fire(The Crusaders, and Heroes), and Kingdom Under Fire 2. I can't tell if the devs never played KUF or N3 games, because other than the graphics style and lack of supermassive magic(To be fair, I haven't played enough to see any yet), those camera angles and "Kill The Captain" incentive are some really strong reminders. Edit: I have to note that this game does not have KUF or N3-style large military movements, and you don't have the whole top-down command of a large army or other platoons. I am also quite rusty at this genre of game, so I can't really comment on the rest of it yet. The rogueliteness, combat and playstyle are already solid foundations for a good future, and while there are some things that could be improved, anything I could or would ask for will fall outside of the scope of this specific game, as much of what I would like from this genre leans heavily into the other stuff I miss from KUF and N3. I hope that this game gains serious popularity, and I hope for more ambition and competition within this specific niche, as it's one that has pretty much gone extinct.
