Not well-made but clever.
Team Indie is a 2D platformer with cartoony art style where you use a number of platformer gimmicks like time manipulation to pass each level. Despite insulting PC gamers with console peasant childrens toy controller prompts, this is a PC native game, which just goes to show these guys have no idea who their target audience is. The game itself is unplayable as it maps PC game controllers like HOTAS as if they are peasant pads, so you can't even negotiate the game menu to start the game if you play flight sims. A bit of basic testing would have shown that problem, so it's clear they didn't bother with basic QA here either. Instead of fixing the glaring problems with the game, the developers chose to wisely pull this from the Steam store. I guess the best advice for developers in a similar position, if you make a game for console peasants, don't forget to release it on consoles instead of Steam, which is for PC games.

"Marvin the cat is caught in the video game world! Enlist the help of your indie game friends to guide him to safety." That's the actual honest-to-god opening crawl text, and the entirety of the plot of this nightmare of a game. I want you to imagine the worst cheap cash-in attempt at a licences game based on a children's movie you've ever played. Got it in your head? Now keep the gameplay exactly the same - borderline unplayable, simplistic beyond belief, and completely devoid of originality - but remove the license. Instead, base it on some crap you've never heard of. They needed to combine ten different IPs in this game just so there would be a CHANCE the player had heard of one of them. Also, the music is pretty atrocious. If you were gifted this game as part of a humble bundle, let your six year old son or daughter play it and maybe it'll keep them busy for an hour or two while they wonder why they're doing what they're doing. That's the nicest thing I can say about it.
This is a half-assed puzzle platformer. You can't buy it any more, but if you could, don't. Don't even play it. It takes some characters with unique moves from other games, they don't gel together, and it's an annoyance to have to try and plan by trial and error how you're going to make it through the level by combining their skills. Level design relies too much on careful timing, forced continual movement, and invisible synchronisation,, for example e.g. having a flying character fly from A to B to C to D to E while flying high enough that another character who will in future, when the clock winds back, hang onto them in a way that doesn't get their feet caught on spikes. And again, thinking of the future, you have to leave enough time for the passenger to jump off at B, C and D to do something else then jump back on again, so in reality there need to be lots of flights between A and E, so the passenger has several opportunities to jump on, but not too high, not too low, and you have to get that perfect before you first attempt to be the passenger. If it doesn't work out, if the passenger can't get where he needs to, you need to wind back and redo all of the flying again. It's just a pain, a chore and an incredible irritant after you've had to do it 20 times. The basic premise is that the other characters often "clear the way" for the main character, but most commonly they clear just their own way, passing through obstacles, then the main character has to pass through the same obstacles. A cheap way to get you to do the same problem multiple times. Add to that that the game is buggy, and if you're not careful you'll clip into walls, or sometimes you'll fall through a bouncy thing, and it's a wonder you can make it through at all. This is what platformers look like in hell.
I have enjoyed it. Each character has their own unique and helpful abilities that match their abilities and mechanics in their respective games. (Making the puzzle platforming a bit like Thomas Was Alone.) And the way time rewinds so that you can play alongside previous characters' actions makes it really feel like all these indie game characters are working as a team (especially how the Badlands character can fly while carrying others). There are also some really cool moments. The first Braid level was pretty cool as they have the exact same time mechanic as in that game and it actually worked, and the level art and particle effects look like Braid too. Dustforce, BitTrip, Super Crate Box, and Badlands's characters I also know are faithful to their games' mechanics. The teamwork involved in running from the first boss was pretty well-designed and epic feeling. If you like collecting things, there are a lot of trophies to collect hidden in each level, each with symbols/characters/items from the indie games. I am also a sucker for the 2d platforming, floating island theme, and indie games. I got this game I think for free a while ago and am just going through my backlog, and I have found that I like it. If you're considering buying it though, honestly your money and time may be better spent elsewhere. I'm not sure if you can even buy it anymore though as the developer may have removed it due to the poor reception :(. I thought it wasn't that bad though, and it has some heart to it. I think the developer may have even added some characters from some lesser-known, less iconic games (The Great Jitters: Pudding Panic and Tiny & Big in Grandpa's Leftovers?), ones that they were just fans of, which is kind of cool.
Just finished the whole thing and I gotta say: I dont really get why it has that many negative reviews. Was kinda skeptic to this game when I saw it only has 50% positive rewievs, but was pleasently surprised when I tried it on my own and had a lot of fun playing it. Not gonna lie, this game has some issues but nothing that terrible (through out the whole game I got stucked like 2-3 times that made me restart the game cause I couldnt do anything, once I somehow got into wall then like 2 weird teleports into nowhere and thats it - with quite a lot of checkpoints not a big deal) some animations aint that smooth and sometimes rare visual glitches. But overall its a nice platformer game with multiple well known indie game characters thrown together into one game to help this cute cat defeat his enemy. Many levels with great design, puzzles and trophies to collect. If you are into platformer games and get this one in some sale or bundle, you will be happy.
