Keeping this one as short as I can. This is my first time playing one of these job simulator games that are constantly popping up. I would give it a neutral rating I think, if that were possible. PROS: - The gameplay loop is satisfying - Decent variety of activities to unlock as you run your store, buy/sell/trade cards, host tournaments, etc. - Can hire staff to help you run things - Can open the card packs you buy and sell them, having them evaluated, etc. CONS: - There are only two songs one of which is quite annoying, and you will listen to them on loop forever - If you decide to turn off the music, there is only a couple of sound effects and no background noise - Looks like an asset flip, graphics are very unappealing - Staff do help a bit, but they are slow and dumb and sometimes you need to clean up after them or jump in to take over what they are doing - There are times where I am putting a new item on the shelf and customers grab it before I can even change the default price, so I take a financial hit - I do not feel there is enough variety in the cards currently It's a fun time for awhile, but the issues will begin to wear on you. I can see myself coming back for more a couple more times though, as like I said the loop can be pretty satisfying.
This game is super addicting and honestly is exactly the game any fan of TCG should get. Pros: Graphics: Typical of a sim game, they "just work". They look decent enough to get the point across, but they arent going to blow your mind away. The cards look awesome and all the different styles and versions of the cards available is also good to look at. Gameplay: The game shines obviously here. You can literally customize the shop to your exact liking, down to the decor on the walls. Everything is set up really nice to easily customize the store as you grow and add more as the money comes in. Honestly this game is way too dam fun. The little small jokes that TCG players know (Like smelly players) is also here. The tracking with its own TCG market in-game and the grading with its own TCG grading system is really in depth and well done. You can even pull god packs! Value/Fun: The game is just fun, it really brings the TCG life to the forefront and i really enjoy it. The value is definitely here. Cons: Lack of music: Little to no music options. I believe theres only two songs that play the entire time. Maybe a jukebox option of some kind to change it up in the store. Animations: Character animations are extremely basic. Characters move in a robotic fashion. When they are playing cards in the shop its a little better, but otherwise you are watching robots walking around your store. Honestly this game is way too dam fun and I am surprised how in depth all of it actually is. You will get a true TCG shop experience with this game and hopefully they continue to add more to the experience for the player, which it seems from their roadmap that is halfway done, they will hopefully do. Thanks for reading.
Turns out the cure for spending too much money on trading cards is spending too much time pretending to sell them. Seriously addictive gameplay, and I get all the fun of opening packs without destroying my bank account IRL. It’s definitely a bit of a grind, but it’s the perfect game to switch your brain off, relax and watch the hours disappear. My main complaint is the performance, it should run much better than it does, especially on an RTX 5070. Hopefully optimisation improves with future updates... 9/10 financially safer than a real card addiction.
Just like the good old days buying Monster cards and having smelly armpits everywhere in the store. very accurate simulator!
i would like to recommend you to buy this game, the game games pretty hard i have a fever of 102 while i write this... My hair hurts and i ordered Panera soup.
The 1.0 release feels like a slap in the face to someone who bought the game on release. Without mods, this game would not be as popular as it is now. My biggest issue is the fact that base game is still missing crucial QOL that said mods introduce. That's not even touching upon the abysmal controller support that hasn't changed since release. It's so infuriating to play with a controller I'm genuinely shocked the dev even wasted time developing a console release. I assumed once 1.0 came out it would be more polished, or at least iron out some of the glaring issues such as the pacing or ridiculous grind, but I guess not. Not once did I ever want a playable TCG feature... This is a TCG shop sim, not Pokemon TCG Live or Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel. It was always going to be a half-baked feature you're only going to touch for a few minutes before you get bored and do something else. Not sure why that was in such demand, or necessary to include. 1.0 should have been focusing on the core experience. As others have said. The slop Unity assets don't help the presentation of the game and make it look cheap. Isn't on the highest list of complaints I have, but it is another thing I would have expected to be changed by now. Genuinely an insulting experience from start to finish. I used to enjoy wasting hours away in the game, now even the thought of it disgusts me.
