Bin in drei Laternen, zwei Passanten und eine Taube gefahren – Kunde meinte trotzdem: 'Beste Fahrt meines Lebens!' 11/10, würde wieder Chaos stiften.(Indische Taxi Fahrer)

Bad physics, bad Ai, Bad controls, overall i will give it 3 or 2 out of 10
Taxi Simulator, developed and published by Whoisthis, attempts to immerse players in the daily grind of managing and operating a taxi business within a city environment. The game offers a simulation experience where you’re responsible not only for driving passengers to their destinations but also for overseeing the broader aspects of running a taxi station. From upgrading your fleet and repairing vehicles to recruiting drivers and managing finances, the game aims to deliver a comprehensive take on what it means to be involved in the taxi industry. This blend of management and hands-on driving was intended to create a unique niche within the simulation genre. In terms of gameplay, Taxi Simulator offers a variety of activities that players can engage in. You’re tasked with picking up customers scattered across the city, maintaining the condition of your vehicles, and purchasing items to improve your station and cars. The interface allows you to juggle these tasks with the goal of building a profitable and efficient taxi operation. Additionally, the game tries to bring life to the environment by including features such as keeping your station clean and hiring new employees to expand your business capabilities. Ideally, this multifaceted gameplay loop would encourage players to strategize and plan carefully while experiencing the more immediate challenge of navigating the city streets. Visually, the game presents a simplified yet functional cityscape with interiors for the taxi station and the vehicles that you drive. The design focuses on clarity and utility over high-end graphics, which can be seen as both a strength and a limitation. While the art style and environment design manage to provide a decent level of immersion, the graphics may feel somewhat underwhelming or outdated compared to other simulation titles that offer more polished visuals. This contrast in visual quality may impact how deeply players feel drawn into the game world, especially for those used to more graphically ambitious simulations. Despite the game’s promising concept, its release and subsequent development have been met with significant criticism from the player community. Taxi Simulator launched in Early Access with the promise of ongoing updates, bug fixes, and content expansions. Unfortunately, many players have reported a lack of meaningful updates since the initial release, resulting in a stagnant experience that has left fans feeling neglected. The absence of clear communication from the developers regarding the game’s roadmap has further fueled frustrations, causing some players to doubt the project’s future viability. This perceived lack of support has cast a shadow over the game’s potential, leading many to view it as an unfinished or abandoned product. The mixed reception among players reflects these development challenges. While some appreciate the underlying concept and the blend of management with driving simulation, the execution and follow-through have left many dissatisfied. User reviews frequently mention unfulfilled promises and a sense that the game was released prematurely. These factors contribute to an overall cautious approach among potential buyers, who are advised to consider the current state of the game and the uncertainty surrounding future improvements before committing to a purchase. In summary, Taxi Simulator offers an interesting and potentially engaging experience for those intrigued by the day-to-day workings of a taxi business. Its combination of management tasks and hands-on driving could appeal to simulation enthusiasts looking for a fresh take on the genre. However, the game’s present shortcomings in polish, graphical fidelity, and ongoing developer support make it a challenging recommendation at this time. Players interested in this title should weigh the promise of its concept against the reality of its current state and the unclear future of continued development. Rating: 4/10
