Reviews
This game does not accurately emulate Source engine surfing. Use Momentum Mod for that. Specifically, SurfsUp encourages mooning off ramps, collisions are funky, and speed decrease due to turning too fast is inconsistent. The maps are presented as if they were created by the game authors (aside from "Classic Surf Maps" in the trailer which is vague) and I don't think that's cool. Acknowledge the community you are standing on the shoulders of. Also, This game should remain free of any monetization considering all of its content is not original. There are also a lot of missing clip and reset brushes on maps. The creator posts on reddit about their Claude Code subscription, but there is no disclosure of generative AI use in the development of the game. I don't think that's cool. I appreciate the attempt to improve onboarding to surfing, and hopefully this game will get more people into proper surf and other movement modes. As I see it now, this game shouldn't even be legal to monetize on steam considering what it uses.
Good physics plays well, just wish i had custom items like a fidget spinner or a hotdog. edit, WE GOT DA SPINNIN DOG 10/10

Really liked this game for a long time but unfortunately with the new update you're no longer able to make private servers for free meaning when I'm trying to relax sometimes people will just randomly join my maps. Most of the time it isn't a problem but I just had a kid spamming on the mic trying to get my attention. Not to mention the BHOP map that I was grinding away at no longer works thanks to a new bug that was added in the update. I just wanna be able to bhop and surf in peace.
This is actually a very good cs style surf game with a decent community and plenty of maps to choose from. It's evident that the game was made with love and the developers as well as the partnered game developers all seem like good people. This game is a good way to preserve the surfing, and bhop etc. It has a few rough edges to be ironed out, but it is a relief that this is something that will stay relatively consistent regardless of whatever happens with CS. Not to mention, it is mostly free and runs really well. In the span of a couple of weeks I've watched myself grow into a much better surfer than I've ever been. I didn't expect it to grow on me, but it's one of my main games now. Cheers to the devs, and long live SurfsUp!
I was trying to give this game a fair shot at first, but the more I played it the more it just kinda showed how bad it actually is. It’s not even in a way that makes you mad, it just feels off the whole time. Like something is always wrong but you can’t even point to one thing at first. The random resets are one of the biggest problems. They just happen and there’s no reason for it, no warning or anything. You’re just doing your thing and then suddenly you’re back at the start. After a while it doesn’t even surprise you anymore, you just expect it, which is kinda sad honestly. The surfing feels like ♥♥♥♥ too. It’s really clunky and inconsistent, like sometimes it works and sometimes it just doesn’t for no reason. It doesn’t feel smooth at all, and it’s hard to even tell if you’re doing something wrong or if the game is just messing up. It never really starts to feel better either, it just stays bad. And the tutorial… yeah it’s basically useless. It doesn’t really explain anything properly and just kinda throws you in. I had to figure most of it out myself, not because it’s hard in a good way, but because the game just doesn’t explain stuff. Overall it just feels really low effort. Not in a loud way, just like they didn’t really care that much when making it.
NOSTALGIA MAXXING - GREAT GAME!!
its free try it
I did actually really enjoy this game, but with the new revamp of the game, combined with the longer load times and more annoying main menu screen filled with random videos, I no longer want to play it
Mark needa lock the ♥♥♥♥ in on the checkpoints and ending. If my pb dont count one more time im touching shadow war
Incredible game, incredible dev, incredible community. With Surf being the legend it is, it has earned its place in gaming history, and this is a game made for the people who miss how it used to be. I'm new to the community and pretty horrible, but people have been awesome and so welcoming. Mark, the dev, isn't just responsive, but live patched an issue I asked about minutes before. Total legend, play this, buy the supporter pack, and surf.
