https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5cEDGyMwi8 + narration and voice acting + puzzles and platforming - optimisation issues - bugs, clipping - animations are awkward - no unique character model - store assets used (wouldn't be an issue if it was a demo) There are quite a few more negatives, but I think the video above will explain it in great detail as well as the positives, bottom line is there is promise for the team behind it, if they can work more collaboratively on a fully realised vision and understanding of design philosophy in future updates or new release titles. Although it's listed as a Game I believe it should be relisted as a tech demo.

Oyuncuyu giderek daha duyarlı hale gelen bir yapay zekanın yerine koyan, anlatı odaklı bir platform oyunu.
Boring, also the graphics don't work only low setting, and i can't go past the level where i search for the lights since i don't see it. Very laggy and weird controls, also the mouse locks in, so if you want to press anything outside of the game you have to close it, not minimize, not window, not alt tab, only alt f4
Game is interesting, couldn't take it too serious. But a nice demo. assuming it was was made to practice using unity, Interested in seeing what else is created, or if there will be a sequel. For an indie game it did use way to much resource, my gawdamn gpu was reaching almost 75c while will CODMW2 it only every peaks at 55-60c
Awful platforming. Actually terrible. None of it feels smooth or consistent. I couldn't even bother playing this game any longer, it's terrible.
"Surface Runner" is a low key asset flip, a bunch of other people's assets assembled badly to make a basic game. Typically this kind of thing is done by amateur developers without sufficient budget, talent and/or staff to do the job of game development professionally. It's then quickly rushed into Steam Direct. And, unsurprisingly, this never results in a product with any quality, interest, or value for gamers. This is more of an Unreal tech demo/homework assignment than what anyone would call a serious game, it feels more like someone mucking around with Unreal without knowing how to optimize the engine or anything. They made a simple rudimentary platformer with jarringly mismatched game assets, janky gameplay, and a flew of unfixed bugs that should have stopped this being published at all. Since this is basically a kitbash of other people's assets, it's visually better looking than the actual game. The thing is, when developers don't budget properly and hire real artists, and lack the skill to do the rest of the job of a game developer and the result is deplorably bad quality junkware. "Surface Runner" proves this point perfectly. The "game" here is of a pretty low technical standard. The implementation is basic minimum effort stuff, more like a weekend project rather than a serious, professionally made product... and it's bad even compared to most amateur made games. An experimental piece... and the experiment is "Can I spend $100 on Steam Direct and then call myself a game dev?" While that $100 spend on Steam Direct probably made the developers feel good about themselves, we have to ask why this kind of thing is good for gamers. It isn't. On the important matter of pricing and value for gamers, there's a lot going on here with monetisation, so this really shouldn't be considered a truly free product because of that. There's no initial download price, but the developer was charging $10 USD for this on the Microsoft store, but free here on Steam... and still nobody wanted it. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at only 12 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. This "free" game won't count toward your game collection count on your profile. With that in mind, is it something you should still download? Nope, even if you don't have to pay any money up front, this isn't something I can suggest PC gamers spend their time on... there's thousands of better games on Steam.

got to the second part of the tutorial thinking it would level out. nope. motion sickness just trying to get back on the first platform. nightmare
