SUPER NEAT CAT is a retro platformer in the vein of the original Nintendo & Super Nintendo 2D platforming games.
Can this neat little cat save their home from a Nanobot-Virus? This virus was created by an ancient civilization. It has infected the world and has been taking over the wildlife.
Their first time leaving their home, this cat will travel far to try and find the source of this destruction. 60+ levels await to be challenged and more!
Run and double-jump across a land covered by ancient temples that have awaken again. These temples are protected with traps and hazards that you must avoid. Some form into shifting dungeons that change every time you enter!
Absorb Nano-Crystals that seem to give the Nanobots power. Perhaps they can also be used to stop them!
Can this neat little cat do more than they ever thought they could?

SUCH A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RAGE GAME

Just a below average 2D indie platformer. It's got nothing to it, the boss fights are just bad, there's way too many levels you're probably forced to play through twice and it's generally not worth giving attention to, even if it's free.

Beat the game and collected all the gems. Don't think I'm going to get the time badges because time trial stuff really isn't my cup of tea. Anyway, with that out of the way....I thought this was pretty decent. Although, I have to say that it's coming form the knowledge that this was the dev's first commercial product and that I'm not really into platformers. Difficulty-wise, I thought it was just right. Things never felt so difficult that I was throwing my head against a wall but at the same time not so incredibly easy that there was no challenge at all. Everything is functional and there are some neat ideas here (heh, see what I did there?) that could be expanded on in future games. I liked the attempt at the procedural dungeons but felt that in execution they got repetitive way too quickly. Despite never knowing exactly where to go I felt that those were the easiest levels and also the most boring because they usually never offered anything new. The evolving bosses was a cool idea as well, but I think I would rather vastly different bosses because also became incredibly predictable even with some new danger to deal with. But I understand this was probably to keep development time in rein and not to get into things that would be too far out of scope or skill. I think the biggest drawback here is the lack of coyote time in the jumps. There were several times where I failed solely because I thought I jumped properly but I guess I didn't. It made the platforming feel a bit off at times. The art here was a good re-purposing of assets and I didn't notice it for a while. So great work creating it into your own. And I liked the level design with the obstacles. Clearly there was a lot of thought put into the different encounters and it was always rewarding to pass through a particular tough one. Finally, without giving too much away...the finale was way out of left field for me. Did not expect it at all and I guess I kind of wish it had been some challenging platforming bit with a boss fight instead but I guess it was to get away from the standard boss fight the player had been fighting up until that point? Anyway, a good first try at a game and definitely a fun few hours especially since it's now free to pick up and play!
