Awesome game, a bit too difficult though. Runs great on the Steam Deck. Edit: I love the fact that updates are coming almost daily. Keep up the good work! Would give multiple thumbs up.
Unique but tough game. Pixel art is dope. 10/10
A seemingly original and cool concept is held back by unbalanced gameplay. Enemies only move when you move in a similar fashion to Crypt of the Necrodancer, unfortunately the Muncher doesn't work in this fashion so you are forced to try to bypass enemies by jumping just right to avoid them while also trying to progress downward and do so quickly enough that you don't get munched. It just doesn't work. If the dev were to pivot and make this play something closer to a top down Zelda-like with stairs / dungeons / levels to progress through, with enemies moving on their own patterns allowing players to avoid / attack them a bit easier, it could be a hit. If not, someone should make that game. Also I get not liking criticism, but adding a "Wimp mode" that forces you to play as a literal baby and not make progress is a pretty distasteful and disrespectful move to people who were not only willing to pay for your game, but take the time out of their day to try to provide their honest feedback which shouldn't be taken personally, but as valuable information that can be used to improve their and future player experiences. I love seeing on game's Steam pages when browsing to find new games about huge QoL patches based on user feedback, but I can only imagine the latest update being a player hostile "Wimp mode" is going to turn some people rightfully off.

SUPER Dungeon Muncher injects a dose of frantic fun into the classic dungeon-crawler formula. This quirky indie gem throws you into a hilarious battle of wits against a ravenous monster with a bottomless appetite for... the dungeon itself! Unlike your typical dungeon hero, you control a nimble adventurer tasked with navigating a grid-based world while a giant, red "Muncher" chases you down, literally devouring the level as it goes. Your objective? Stay one step ahead of the hungry beast and reach the exit before you become a tasty snack. SUPER Dungeon Muncher's brilliance lies in its deceptively simple core mechanic. You move turn-based, strategically plotting your path across the grid. However, the ever-approaching Muncher operates in real-time, constantly chomping away at the edges of the dungeon, forcing you to think fast and adapt your plans on the fly. It's a frantic game of cat-and-mouse, with every move a calculated risk. The clever level design adds another layer of depth to the gameplay. Each procedurally generated dungeon is a labyrinth filled with hazards, power-ups, and strategically placed gates. Gates are your primary weapon in this unusual chase. By manipulating these gates, you can control the Muncher's path to an extent, creating shortcuts or blocking its advance momentarily. But timing is crucial – a misplaced gate can lead you straight into the Muncher's path! SUPER Dungeon Muncher's charm goes beyond the unique gameplay. The pixel art style bursts with character, and the quirky animations of your hero and the lumbering Muncher add to the lighthearted atmosphere. The upbeat soundtrack perfectly complements the fast-paced action, keeping your adrenaline pumping throughout your escape attempts. While the game can be challenging at times, the controls are intuitive and the difficulty curve is well-balanced. The constant threat of the Muncher and the thrill of a close escape create a loop of addictive gameplay. Whether you crave a strategic puzzle experience or a frantic dash for survival, SUPER Dungeon Muncher offers a delightfully unique and rewarding adventure. Cool game with very cutsie pixel art. It's an arcade / puzzle game with a very colorful and cheerful vibe to it. The Muncher gives a sense of urgency to your runs and conditions you to solve the puzzles before you're getting munched. The enemies move based on every move you make, thus it is important to find balance between their move sets and your steps. The game is a bit hard (in a good way as it remains engaging and motivates you to try and bet it), but not impossible. Once you get the hang of it, you're gonna progress in no time. Overall it's a nice game and I am looking forward to beating the snow map!
i found myself dying over and over to problems that seemed to have solutions but i could not find the objects to open doors or break walls. the fact that you and most enemies move on one time but the level devouring enemy moves on his own really functions as a negative to play-ability.
It's BAAAAAAAAD
it is fun and good if youre a skilled gamer like me
not good, like really nothing redeemable
