About
Suicide Drive is a fast-paced game about swerving between lanes of oncoming traffic at top speed with your eyes closed.
Play as Becky and The Prick; two nihilistic thrill-seeking idiots who hate eachother almost
as much as they hate being alive.
Complete runs to acquire cosmetics, vehicles, and other items that tweak gameplay.
Each run has unique road layouts, offers from your drug dealer, and random events that either
help or hurt your chances of not dying horribly.

Simple 'left or right' dodging game but enjoyable for what it is, especially at that negligible price point. It has some unlocks to keep you going like additional game modes, 2 extra rides, and various cosmetics, not to mention some pretty funny character moments, very funky vibes and animation. Overall the game looks very nice, even though it seems the stages are sampled from the same set of locations, so it lacks a bit of variety there. I like the gameplay, although in my opinion the difficulty above easy feels a "touch" overtuned, I mean maybe it's a skill issue on my part, but I probably have like 90% failure on medium even when I try my best, feels too punishing I think. Some of the game modes provide extra stats, although usually they come with a downside, for example playing in a first-person mode gives more control, but it's also harder to see your hitbox so... I think a good compromise would be to add some small buffs to cosmetics so maybe if you get frustrated like me, you can eventually lower the difficulty a bit to push through, like +3% booster recovery per item or similar modifiers. It also has an "upgrade" feature during a run, as well as randomized "events" that may lower or increase the difficulty in some way, or add some type of feature to the run, I don't want to say like a rogue-lite, but a similar idea. It's not very complicated, after you get some experience it's pretty obvious which upgrades are the best. The only other feature you have to worry about is the booster which can save you from the crash if you time it correctly, giving you some temporary I-frames.
Pros:
(+) I find the character moments rather charming, I guess they are both suicidal (or maybe just the girl, not really sure), and there are some silly panels with them interacting or trying to die. The art/vibes are pretty good. (+) Has some unlocks like cosmetics, game modes, different rides that don't control the same (+) The gameplay is simple but the game functions pretty well, there are some small nuances with upgrade choices and timings
Feedback:
Just some random notes: - the only thing I don't like is that the stages seem to be sampled from the same zones, so you don't get a different feel to them even though there are several locations, I wish there was a little more variety there or maybe some color pallet change that are specific to each area - it might be a good idea to give the player 1 coin for beating at least 3 sections, just so they making some* progression without completing the full run - maybe you could attach very tiny buffs to cosmetics, like +3% recovery, -2% speed, less cars ect. Just so if you having a hard time, you can decrease the challenge a little. I personally find the game too punishing on medium and hard - honestly I think many achievements in this game are either too free or too hard, nothing in between Overall Thoughts: 7/10 You probably won't stay around here for too long, but for a few $ I think the game has good effort and some funny moments. Sadly I could not unlock the last stage, for me personally the difficulty was a little too high above easy, I am still trying though. There is some collection content so you can drop at least a couple of hours into it, unlocking different rides and some silly cosmetics. As much as I really want to enjoy this game, something about it feels off. The car traffic often appears suddenly when coming around a curve, making it sometimes impossible to react or avoid it in time. I was expecting gameplay that relies more on reaction time and player skill, rather than the surprise factor of only seeing obstacles at the last second.
Good game, plays well, great music.
"GO PLAY IN TRAFFIC!!!" Becky and The Prick thought this was a great idea. MORE TRAFFIC
Game is super fun, forces me to not blink lol I like the artstyle, it's makes it more easy in the eyes to focus on the road, it's like a mix between arcade and roguelite since everytime you restart a level, you will get modifiers that screw you or help you (which are the screens between stages). Really cool and cute duo dynamic, love the fact you can customize them with cosmetics, you get a shop to buy you super useful upgrades at the end of each stage which doesn't change much other than the discount but I prefer it that way since I already have an strategy. I also like you can buy pets as modifiers for the whole game and the bonuses the game rewards you for equipping them. Despite not much of graphical options game runs fine, can't tell if my frames are dropping due to my eyes being stuck on the road but I would say it wasn't much of a problem if I was actually frame dropping. Sounds are nice, I don't remember if the tracks change from the usual five I feel I heard but it doesn't annoy me and there's one that reminds me of Green Day (could be wrong but i dunno, sounds similar imo). The only thing that I don't understand is if hitting the cones and the random pedestrians do anything unless the game decides to give you a modifier related to them (yes, the achievements are there for hitting them), I also have a love/hate relationship with the random thunder that crash down on the road, either it removes me a vehicle I was about to crash or it makes me lose all the focus (lol). There's also different levels with different difficulty before unlocking the final one (and finishing the game which i haven't done cause I need 2 go to sleep). And I also like the dark humor that it's everywhere in the game, little details that I love to see. But overall, super recommended, never had this much fun with an arcade day ever since my kid days of playing Pepsiman on the PS1. Recommended for both casuals who want to play something fun and quick, and hardcore players who want a challenge and a game to do a 100%. Hell, if you're a speedrunner you might as well love it if you unlock the pet for fast mode.
