it feels like a tech demo. first game was like 8000 meters deep? this one is 400... one crappy vehicle. empty enviroment. no way to defend yourself. my BIGGEST problem is with who bought the company, then fired the main developers and then put off early access for another year at our expense just to screw the dev team. just stay away
this game is fun but it also terrible good idea put into action terribly theres danger but you dont get scared like you use to no fear factor in it plus cant kill things 5/10
2/10
I think the game is overrated, because to me, it’s just pure chaos. I hadn’t played any of the Subnautica games before. I didn’t know what I was getting into. To me, it lacks a clear structure. There’s no map. The missions lack a clear structure. That makes the game very exhausting. You lose track of everything. You no longer know where you’ve been, what you’re supposed to do next, or how to proceed. I don’t know if there are any plans to change this. On the positive side, this is probably the most stable Early Access game I’ve ever played. Great graphics, very fast loading—even in multiplayer. No bugs worth mentioning. Conclusion: I like the game’s concept, graphics, and gameplay elements. But the lack of structure and clarity in the game, for me, negates all the good aspects. I wouldn’t buy this again.
WHY IS THERE NO "GIVE UP BUTTON" I HAVE BEEN DROWING FOR 30 MINUTES! I AM CURSED WITH IMMORTALITY. ADD A GIVE UP BUTTON TO YOUR SURVIVAL GAME!
Unveliebable. After so much time this game remains massively underdeveloped, with only a few areas available amounting to a small fraction of what the original subnautica's extent was. The "story" is still a mess, animal behavior is unbalanced, etc. Yet what do the developers prefer to focus their time on? The buddy system!! Yeah, there you go, for all of you who (apparently) rather play a very mediocre continuation of what was an iconic game, so long as you experience mediocrity with others. The developers released today (after months of no activity on a massively underdeveloped game) their latest update, the "buddy system" update, which fixes nothing but promises to add coop oriented stuff that does NOTHING for us single players. This is the new subnautica's development team's way to say that we matter ab so lu le ty NOTHING! Apparently (as per their update and development route) quality gives way to the shared experience, since previous chapters have established prestige (not really). So if you're a single player gamer, why on earth would you at this time give a cent to these people who could care less about single player improvements (and haven't cared for months!)? Their game (massively lacking at this point) obviously is geared to multiplayer at this time. Now, on that point, even if you're coop-oriented, ask yourself: do you prefer to play mediocre games with buddies, or would you rather enjoy the proper development and expansion of a game (like almost all competent games do) and, once the game's systems, story, optimization, and most all other game components work and are satisfying, at that point the game can be expanded towards coop features? But no, subnautica 2 is not like other games (nor like its predecessors, with some established mechanics gone, "additions" that feel more like reskins, bloated areas with little purpose, and some valid additions clunky and convoluted in implementation). Subnautica 2 is about buddies, in mediocre settings, but at least together... So yeah, for most players at this point (and apparently for the near and not so near future) this game is meant to only cater to fans of mediocrity that share the experience with fellow fans of mediocrity. A hard thumbs down for most of us until (and if) the developers get real about making a worthy successor to the franchise. So far, huge disappointment...
i personaly think this game is overrated when it comes to review score. Or its being reviewed based on the views of the 1st 2 games merrits and not merit of this one. i am a massive fan of the other 2 games. so i want to see this one be as good. This game has that UE5 look and feel. the origional's had a unique look, feel and sound to them. This game is small for a subnautica game The only vehicle has only 1 module You are alone on a dangerous alien planet but cannot defend yourself as its not posible to kill any of the hostile lifeforms, but is ok to eat the little helpless ones. WTH And the system requirements dont seem to line up with the look of the game. But thats most UE5 games. i just hope the Dev\s passion for the game was not ruined by the war with the publisher as thats what "Fixing" this game will require. Would love to change this to a thumbs up. and seeing some love for the game from the dev's is whats required for that. Have not seen anything other than allot of hotfixes since launch.
I picked this up thinking it was going to be Subnautica.. instead its a neutered weakened version of the game. Its not survival and exploration, its some twisted subversion to this alien world at the expense of the humans that arrive. You cannot kill or harm anything even in self defense. Your player must die to ensure no fishies are not hurt.
sub 1 was better this is just a sloppy work of sub 1
Subnautica 2 is a huge disappointment. The developers seem extremely ignorant of what players actually want, and some of their decisions are just bizarre. It’s especially weird that you can’t even kill fish. I understand that the game is focused on exploration and survival, but completely removing something that basic makes the world feel much less natural and interactive. Overall, it feels like the developers are ignoring player feedback and making unnecessary restrictions instead of improving the game.
