Street Fighter 6 can be fun. Until you realize just how terrible the community is online. Especially in ranked modes. It's nothing but a zoning spamming nightmare. Street Fighter 6 has some terrible mechanics. Drive Impact and Drive rush are probably the worst thing ever introduced into any Street Fighter. It's a pure cop out for people who can't achieve an opening on their opponent. So they have to use this lame mechanic that holds their hand to create one. Speaking of holding hands. Modern controls does just that. The game favors Modern users by letting them use 2 buttons to do insane combos. It's not fair to Classic users. I get you want to retain a newbie audience on your game but you could at least let us filter between the two. If it's about not separating the community well guess what Capcom? You already did that by adding these atrocious controls. The game itself is unbalanced in general. You have characters who are strictly overpowered. Some characters are just straight up zoners like JP and Ingrid. Which shouldn't even be in this game period. You have characters like Zangief that if he grabs you twice, say good night. You have DLC characters that straight up feel pay to win. Some characters are literally untouchable just due to their move list. The input registering in this game is also terrible. One minute your combo/input works and the next it doesn't. Given how terrible these stick controls/inputs are in general, good luck trying it on the P2 side. The game also has some users using auto tech scripts. This game really consists of corner spamming, zoning and the constant use of Drive Impact/Rush. It should really be called Corner Spammer 6: Drive Impact. The one good thing about this game is the performance and the character graphic designs. The costumes are great and so is the performance for the most part. However everything in this game is basically a DLC or micro-transaction and has an insane price tag in general. If you're a masochist that likes being tortured and wanting to rip your hair out due to the terrible mechanics, inputs, controls, and game play, then this game is for you.
i only know how to do quarter circle forward and can do a DP 75% of the time without jumping accidentally. i get my ass beat every time i go into ranked, and i have only peaked at bronze 2. but i keep going. the only enemy in this game is yourself. the will to learn and the drive to get better only strengthens with every passing minute of waiting in queue. someone jumps towards you and you punish them with an anti-air. your brain just did something the human composition never though possible - you learned how to read. this game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rocks.

In total Sf6 is FINE. But the game doesn't change much at all throughout the years of me playing it. They rarely update it and have stated in interviews that the drive system isn't getting touched. So if you have problems or frustrations with the game because of the way it plays they don't change the characters much or the systems mechanics much to make much of a difference. Maybe season 4 will change that but 3 DLCSs later tells me not to trust that anything significant will change. Its been 3 months since playing this game and to be honest I've fallen out with it. Even if it does get better , playing GGST and having a good time and with other games like avatar and tokon coming made me realize how I was spending my time negatively with SF6. For people who are going to buy SF6 realize you might like some things with sf6 while other some aspects of the game (mechanics, balance, update/changes) will bother you but not to the point of not playing. Its been years since this game came and I made the assumptions that by now they would have made changes or shaken up the game so i stuck with it... I was wrong to. Enjoy sf6 for what it is now, not what you think it could be when 'change' comes, because from experience you're waiting for something that might never happen.
I adored Street Fighter 5, it wasn't perfect but I had fun and kept coming back to play. It's roster was huge and there is a lot of content to get into to enjoy. I bought SF6 at launch, and didn't enjoy any of the base roster characters to keep coming back. Not a huge deal to me, and I'm patient enough to wait for Add on characters to find my guy. This is where SF6 falls apart for me. There hasn't been an Arcade or Super Street Fighter 6 package launched that has the entire current roster at it's launch. Instead, Capcom has opted to lock characters I might be interested in behind a $30 paywall for each pack, rather than offer a season pass and a single character purchase. If Capcom can offer to at least offer individual character purchases and passes, I can easily recommend it. Mechanically, graphically, and technically the game is superb, but the pricing feels grubby.
