its a nice little horror roller coaster ride with lovecraftian touch. the atmosphere the movement and most of all the story aspecially the last hour is huge. but i want to mention some things that in my perspective are subjective and depend on my taste. When i first saw those hiding possibilitys the lockers etc. i was like "omg not this again" and got goose bumps and straight up ptsd cause i thought this will be the lovecraftian version of alien isolation. but i was wrong. the ai is not the smartest so i could continue nearly every encounter via just walk in a mostly straight line trough the hiding spots. even when the ai was checking my hiding spots they wont see nor interact with me. also the design of the common monsters where a bit odd to me. the tentacle thingys looked like a graphic glitch. im also getting the point of deep sea creatures attracting their prey with shiny rainbow colours but those killed some of the dark vibes for me. im also a bit dissapointet by the lack of monsters and the overly common appearing of just running away from them in a constant chase scenario and on the other hand the time spend when you just walk and climb trough the levels. all in all my critique got determined by the great story. the synchro is great. the ending leaves you sad and devastated. it was worth to climb and getting chased to enjoy the story of this game.
I enjoyed this game very much. I wish it was longer! The accents and voice acting make it immersive and the constant fear of dying dont stop. I definitley would reccomend this to anyone. The only thing i kinda disliked was the constant howl in the backround of the creatures but that can be adjusted in settings.
Can't even start the game. Fatal crash even with internet workarounds. Was really excited and will continue to try and make it work but I cant recommend the game in this state. Don't buy unless they fix this, or you love having a hard time launching. Edit: After having a hard time launching and playing thru the game I can't bring myself to hate it. The game is pretty good and the story is great. The environments are beautiful. Siren's rest is definitely more polished than the base game. Give it a 3.5/5, worth to get on sale. Could be a 5/5 if it wasn't for the launch issues, the graphical issues at max settings on ultrawide, and some game breaking bugs (had to restart from checkpoints like 7 times and I would have to traverse areas that you can't really hurry thru). Overall, recommended.
wow, I just finished the dlc for this game, finished the main story yesterday, and holy ♥♥♥♥, this is an amazing story, the main game was amazing, it really got that horror vibe to it, story is amazing and very emotional I was only able to get 60 fps tho and some parts were a little laggy but other then that it was good, the dlc was amazing as well, it was short but it was good, fps was at 60 as well and a little laggy in some parts but other then that it was really good, after finishing both the main story and the dlc I have more questions now then answers, defently going to replay the main story and see what I can get out of it and try and peice this story together. dispite the reviews for the dlc to be mixed I personaly loved the dlc I think it's worth it but some may not and thats fine. shout out to the team who made this game cause it's amazing and I can't wait to play it again and try and get this story together.

Super, echt super!
Had this game on my Steam wishlist for a long time and finally got around to purchasing and playing it. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed. The good things I can say about this game are that the voice acting is truly incredible, and the setting is very unique and compelling. Those two things alone are enough to pull me into the world. The soundtrack did not wow me, with the glowing exception of a track that plays once when you're ascending an elevator in the latter half of the game. This track, combined with the visuals, was so fantastic that it made me wonder why the rest of the OST felt so generic. My biggest gripe with this game is that, very simply, it didn't evoke the sense of horror that I was hoping for. Sure, the monsters were grotesque and off-putting, but I never felt truly in danger. Every death had me throwing my hands in the air, either confused about what the game wanted me to do, or confused about the behavior of the creature AI. All in all, I can't recommend the game. Veterans of the horror genre looking for the next big thrill will not find it here, and players new to horror are better off starting with the classics.
