Games like these genuinely make me want to drag my naked form across searingly hot asphalt and scrape my flesh off with a cheese grater while peeling hangnails all the way back to my wrist. Dont play these city builder mobile games...Ever...Just dont.
Warning: In-Game Cash Shop This game is infested with a toxic mobile app style cash shop. You will be prompted to and expected to give money/credit card details to the developers through this cash shop to buy in-game goods so you can play the game.
"State of Survival" looks exactly like one of thousands of nasty mobile apps infesting the "free" section of Steam, but it's not really free. While I couldn't find this on the app stores, for all intents and purposes this is a mobile app... it has all the same qualities, from the mobile app tier graphics to the shallow gameplay you expect from mobile app cash harvesters. We can't say why this wasn't accepted on the mobile app stores, maybe it's because Google and Apple have QA departments, and Valve has "Steam Direct". This is your typical Chinese browser/mobile game in-exile (not sure why it wasn't accepted on app stores). Pretending to be a tactical strategy game where you build a roster of "heroes" to survive the zombie apocalypse... well, that's just a thin skin over an utterly toxic P2W cash grab scheme from China. Not only is the winner of every fight determined by who spends the most money, you can't even play properly without handing over your wallet. There's only a superficial game here. The game visuals and the game itself are incredibly shallow... think of them as the cheap, bright, colourful plastic cabinet dress theme on a poker machine at the casino. That's basically what this is. So really, the mobile app "game" is just a veneer, a thin skin wrapped around a nasty, predatory mobile app cash shop. Putting that toxic mobile app monetisation aside... this is basically a mobile app on the wrong platform. I didn't spend thousands on a gaming PC so I could pretend it's an iPhone, and I don't think you did either... this kind of mobile app has no place in your Steam library. Like most mobile-tier cash grabs, you're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for a lowest possible quality mobile app, this is clearly intended to strip away your consumer rights and compromise your privacy. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections and consumer rights that gamers expect to have, which is a major red flag. Mobile "developers" need to realize they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I let my cat walk over the keys during the EULA prompt, which solved the issue for me. Let's talk about pricing and the actual value this has for gamers. This game is infested with mobile app store like microtransactions. This is a consumer hostile model that we don't need to see on PC. It's deceptively priced to gouge gamers, and that's a reason in itself to avoid this. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? No way. This is just impossible to recommend to serious PC gamers. I didn't spend any money on this, but I still feel like I got scammed.
