The game has potential, but right now it’s buried under severe technical issues. It’s extremely glitchy, and the servers are almost impossible to access — waiting 50+ minutes for a match makes the game feel effectively dead waiting 1 more day before refund if i cant play this ♥♥♥♥ why by it? Sometimes it even feels like I’ve been banned or blacklisted for no reason. When I finally get in, the team‑based gameplay can be fun, but the constant login failures and unstable servers make the experience feel unusable. Cross‑platform support still feels unfinished, and the online servers are the only place where “hard mode” actually exists. Many levels are so dark that it’s nearly impossible to tell what’s happening, and distinguishing whether an enemy is shocked, stunned, or dead is a guessing game. Rangers become mandatory just to identify targets, snipers feel underpowered, and demolition specialists mostly rely on spray‑and‑pray tactics. There’s clear potential here, but the game simply doesn’t deliver on it yet. It genuinely feels like the dev team might be too small or unable to push the project to where it needs to be. Balance is another major problem. The game leans heavily on RPM instead of meaningful damage, perks fall off hard in later stages, and weapon distribution across classes makes no sense. Nearly every class gets access to the Experimental Rifle TW‑205 — but why would medics, engineers, or snipers need it? Classes should be receiving weapons that reinforce their actual roles. Meanwhile, the Guardian E‑Pulse is noticeably overpowered compared to the sniper‑focused Morita XXXX. With its high RPM, the E‑Pulse clears bugs far more efficiently than a sniper rifle that suffers from slow reloads and low firing speed. Engineers feel extremely weak compared to standard classes, and medics’ only real advantage is the ability to self‑recover with a drone — which feels more like a gimmick than meaningful utility. And then there’s the counter bug. Watching it jump from 60+ back to zero is infuriating. At this point, it’s hard not to say the game is testing my patience. I bought it on Friday, and now I can’t match into anything. It’s beyond frustrating. Overall: flashes of brilliance buried under technical failures, balance issues, and questionable class design. Not recommended in its current state.
Have had a lot of fun with this with both friends and randoms online. Leveling is fun and killing bugs is a passion. This game has a lot of bugs. Fantastic! "The only good bug is a dead bug"
They saw Helldivers 2 being a success so they went to license the source material only to make a worse horde shooter. This has class progression so you need to be playing the class to unlock the items. You have as many loadout options as you got classes, problem is when you're playing with randoms you can't tell if the class you brought will complement the rest of the team. Also if you're doing quickplay some perks in the loadouts are better for some missions and since the loadouts are locked when you start the game you can't switch stuff up, and after choosing a loadout if you regret it you can't switch. Bugs will frequently spawn under your feet and as a squishy human most likely than not you're going to be OHK by half the bugs that spawn. Between reloading and weapon switching as far as I can tell it's better to just reload since secondary is way too weak and reloading primary is usually as fast if not faster than switching weapons. Something that seems cool at the start is that the enemies leave the corpse behind which you could clear out, problem is you seem to need a perk to be able to be rewarded for clearing out the corpses. Also, there's barely any difference between a dead bug and live one specially after you made a huge pile of corpses except when the live bug noticed you and started going in your direction. Honestly, the best part of the game seems to be the base building but in OSS missions the repair time is practically non-existent and as far as I can tell maybe only non-engineer classes can't repair during the siege.
its fun and chill
Simple casual horde survival shooter in Starship Troopers universe. It delivers on that, sorry not sorry it doesn't have tons of depth to the game. Get it on sale and enjoy.
