This was made with more passion than Yooka-Laylee.
As someone who's been following this game's development for a while, I was very pleasantly surprised. Somehow, despite watching multiple different people play through it before I played it myself, I still found myself enjoying playing it myself much more than I thought I would, despite not being a huge fan of platformers. The controls are intuitive, and once you get the hang of them they are quite fun, even on mouse and keyboard. I want to pulverize Gumdrop against the sidewalk with a large meat tenderizer. The artstyle is quaint, the music is relaxing and changes depending on your environment, which is not something I was expecting. Much thought and care was put into it, which is something I really appreciate. I'm hoping that eventually maybe the Stardrop universe will be expanded in some way, but sometimes mysteries are more interesting if they remain unsolved. The sound of Gumdrop's essence boiling under a clothing iron would be music to my ears. I think this game also has decent replay value, as there is enough content and side-quests to warrant practicing to beat the game faster and faster. Bosses are difficult to get right, especially on small projects, but the boss in this game is fun and placed at a good time in the game for it to feel like a test of what the player has learned. This game as a whole is inspiring to myself as an aspiring game developer, and playing through it is giving me a much-needed confidence boost in my own endeavors.

It's a platforming game where the platform quite literally don't work I'm either falling through the floor or being thrown off without the ability to land This does not make a good or functional game
Very solid platformer. I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes as it seems this is just the beginning of the story.
"Stardrop" is an okay-ish low poly third person 3D platformer aimed at kids. It works, but it's also not offering a lot to gamers... and there's some serious issues with hitboxes/platforms that makes playing this frustrating at times. This features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and it's clear the developers behind this didn't understand that. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 5 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? This is a "maybe" experience... if you have a lot of free time on your hands and nothing else to do, why not? But for the purposes of a review, this isn't something I can say everyone must try. It's not quite there. Valve doesn't give us a "maybe" option in reviews, but if they did, that's what I'd choose for this.
The game is captivating. The mechanics feel fresh and the wave dashing is fun and reminds me of mario oddessy and sunshine Mr. McFadden approved
Cool visual and funny story
Plain ol' fun.
i would like more if you plzzzzzz make the damageless cheevo more lenient ;-;;;; its way too punishing a difficulty spike for a game like this and its not a short fight either unless it bugged for me and made it relly long or something :(((( otherwise its cute and i like it :)
