I used to be a huge tryhard, so playing games were indeed fun through all the tremendous, rapid grinding. I did everything as fast as I could to make do, and what only satisfied me was immediate results. This strained me to the point where I had practically headaches playing games all the time. You could argue its also just from having a gaming addiction. I suppose that is true. One day, I heard the name of Stardew Valley, and was pleasantly intrigued. So I immediately bought it during a huge sale and started playing. I cherish the days when I woke up from bed and immediately booted up my PC just to spend the most of my time fishing at Willy's deck and stash them in a large chest to sell them at the end of each month. Listen, I would literally fish past my curfew, sometimes almost until 1 AM. I fished everyday until like, what, mid-year 2? I can't exactly remember, so I might be completely off, but I can't deny that it was extremely boring. It was slow and dull, yet quiet and peaceful... and I know I have never felt so relaxed in such a long time. This game taught me to take things slow and just not overthink. That you'll get there someday. All I had to do is just not rush things and take my time. Because moments pass much quicker than you think, and you will miss them someday. So for people who just have a lot of stress in their life, I highly recommend this.
If you want me to review from a more objective standpoint:
Positives:
-Characters are very interactive; You can give them gifts, unlock specific cutscenes (cutscenes that are very beautifully done) with them and some can be even relatable. [spoiler]Also you can romance the bachelor/ettes!![/spoiler]
-Many ways to make money, so you can play in your own style gameplay-wise
-Different types of farms to decorate on
-Versatile character customisation
-Speaking of decorations, you have a lot of decor to experiment with
-Very cute art style and graphics
-Difficulty is balanced, espescially for a causal game.
-Soundtrack is very good
Negatives (it was very hard to find any.):
Now it can vary depending on how you see it, but I personally find these cons
-Grind is very slow and sorta awkward in the early-game, so you need a little more motivation
-Getting money can be tedious.
Neutral:
-Some things are very expensive. (But it can engage financial decision-making. And its not too irritating.)
