About
Star Witch is a dark fantasy action RPG where power comes at a cost.
A mysterious witch has fallen from the sky, bringing with her an unnatural force that is reshaping the world. Kingdoms have collapsed, the dead rise again, and creatures once bound by nature now serve a darker will.
You begin with nothing—exploring ruined dungeons, scavenging gear, and growing stronger with every battle. Combat is immersive and physical, letting you wield weapons, cast magic, and survive encounters your own way. Every piece of equipment matters, appearing directly on your character and shaping how you fight.
Face twisted enemies, uncover hidden lore, and prepare for encounters with powerful witches who command ice, blood, and forbidden magic. Their strength defies the natural laws of the world—and defeating them will demand more than skill alone.
Explore a living world shaped by dynamic weather, dangerous environments, and the constant threat of something watching from the shadows. Whether you carve your path through dungeons or survive the chaos above ground, every step forward pulls you deeper into a world where magic breaks the rules.
Power demands a price. Will you survive long enough to pay it?
Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my gameplay & impressions here: https://youtu.be/2K-AFSyslCw This has the worst or near the worst combat I have ever experienced in VR. You basically swing and things drop. There's no weight. There's no haptic feedback. There's no strategy. You're never in any danger and there's never any challenge. There's nothing. Just swing and watch die. The only good thing about the combat is that stuff usually dies with one swing. Now, I will give the developer some credit. The game is nice looking, especially since in 2026 PCVR most games look Questified. This looks like a nice PCVR game from 2017. Not the best visuals, but visually more pleasing than the majority of VR releases these days (because of the Quest stand-alone). Game is running on the Unreal Engine 5.5. On my RTX 5090, I was getting frame rates anywhere from 50-90. Although performance was okay for the most part, especially indoors. You do have full locomotion, along with smooth turning. There's even height adjustment so you can play comfortably seated! Unfortunately, I did reach a dead end in the game and I'm not sure if it was a bug or if I was doing something wrong or maybe the game just ended with no other content. I don't know what the case is, however, I just reached a spot in the game where there were no more enemies to fight, but also nowhere else to go. The game was showing the outline of a wand looking object, but there was no wand anywhere!!! There's a lot of empty space in the game so I didn't feel like wandering around aimlessly. Rate 4/10. Maybe I'm being too generous since the combat is utterly atrocious here, but the world was nice to look at sort of. Maybe I could recommend if you're into nature walking sims in VR (space fantasy edition).
I bought this game! 'Star Witch' is an Oculus Rift Only action shooter that for some reason doesn't work on the Oculus Rift. In fact, the frame rate is so low this game is pretty much unplayable and definitely so nauseating that you wouldn't want to play it anyway. It seems to be a poorly made shooter with some of the worse voice acting you will ever hear. I know £3.99 isn't a very big asking price, but asking anything for this at the moment is asking too much, avoid this for now until it gets fixed.
