I completely get the Negative comments... but for me.. I play on steam deck and have almost no interest in online play. I loved the game and had very little issue.
Low effort award goes too!!!!
Its just the two older games put together slightly enhanced and it includes the dlc that was only available on xbox, its good, i enjoyed getting all the achievements.
launched game with broken multiplayer and now its fixed and not a single soul is on it, should make the game $10 to try and revive it otherwise this game is dead forever, seems very bloated in storage being about 50gb, just buy the old ones cause they have mod support too
Leaving a positive review because they brought this down from 62 GB to 30 GB in the last update. However, some major benefits to buying the Classic Collection over the originals: - Native controller support. This makes the games much more playable on Steam Deck. There are those who would say to just use a community controller layout on the original games, but without the built-in aim assist, it is very difficult to use. - Splitscreen support. We need more splitscreen games in our life. - Additional DLC built in. You can mod this in the original games, but it's nice and convenient to have. - Steam Remote Play Together. Because every mode in this game is splitscreen, you can finally play Galactic Conquest against someone online!
On a sale and you're still trying to charge people £21,99 for this garbage of a remake?
Game was released very buggy and is now dead. Please don't waste your money on this. Steam denied my refund because i played too long (I really wanted to believe it was my PC or user error but it was actually unplayably buggy). Its a bit better now but far too little, far too late.
the updates totally broke the splitscreen mode, no reason to purchase this game anymore as that was the only selling point. online is dead, probably the worst implementation of a port ever.
While the game released in an unacceptable state, the following patch work has turned a game I loved playing as a kid into an undying classic that will live on for generations to come. Had this game been delayed for a month or two to work on the bugs and glitches, as well as improved the multiplayer matchmaking, this game would've gotten universal praise. Instead, we get another tragic example of a game getting rushed.
Consider this review neutral. Yes, it's a cashgrab. It's lazy, it's buggy, and at times inferior to the games it's porting. Do NOT let this turn you off of Star Wars or the OG Battlefront games. They're both fully playable, even in this release. I personally recommend getting the original version separately, but this works if it's what you prefer. I don't know why you would, but to each their own. Both games are playable, and both are great. I personally recommend the BF1 Galactic Conquest; it doesn't take too long and doesn't really have much for the AI to exploit. Be prepared for a few rough battles your first time around, especially if you pick Rebels. Both Besbin battles and Endor are the worst. Again, I'd rather you spent your money on BF1. Multiple other reviews here link to it on steam. Don't fix what isn't broken and all that. But if you really want both games in one, this works.
