If you're looking for the perfect "I'm a Jedi and want to be a pain in the ass for the Empire" adventure game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is the greatest game of all. It is, if not the best, one of the best games to be a Jedi warrior and become a killing machine, without disrespecting The Force Unleashed. And if you love soulslike games but you are sceptical about playing Fromsoftware's franchise, Fallen Order is the best way to introduce to the game.
So the game takes place between Star Wars Episode III and Episode IV, in the horror reign of the Galactic Empire. The ex-Padawan and survivor of the Order 66 Cal Kestis is chased by Darth Vader's Sith Inquisitors, being rescued by the ex-Jedi Cere Junda and the pilot of the Mantis spaceship Greez. Cere convinces Cal to restore the Jedi Order, and they set destiny to fin more Force users in the galaxy, traveling to new planets such as Zeffo or Bogano and some already seen planets such as Dathomir, Ilum or Kashyyk. Story is kinda cliché ("oh no, the bad guys are haunting us, but we had enough of hiding. Let's fight!"), but you enjoy every moment, from the beggining to the end.
As I mentioned earlier, Cal Kestis isn't as overpowered as Starkiller from The Force Unleashed, so the game is way more fun when you start as a novice Force user and end up as a powerful Jedi who can
[SPOILER]face Darth Vader at the end of the game[/SPOILER]. The combat mechanics are good and fun, being very similar to soulslike game but without feeling to punishing. And the open-world exploration it's OK, but it's kinda annoying how sometimes you can get lost or need to make a long walk back to a meditation point (similar to Dark Souls' bonfires) or the Mantis.
Visually it aged perfectly. It's just a beautiful game in which every planet is really well recreated as you explore. In my opinion it looks way better than some new gen games despite being a game released for the PS4/Xbox One. Every single landscape is just as stunishing as a movie.
And I also loved the music, feeling how Respawn honored John Williams' music from the Star Wars movies. Voice acting it's ok. Not perfect nor annoying.
Game costs 40€, which I find it a reasonable price (the Deluxe Edition just gives you some skins. Nothing special), but on sales the price drops to 8€ or even 4€. That's up to you, but I guarantee the game can give you many hours of not just a good story but also many challenges and achievements.
I find Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order a pretty underrated game, and a must-play if you love the Star Wars franchise. One of the greatest games EA made, respecting George Lucas and his masterpiece unlike some movies from Disney (ajem ajem)
