Devs thank you for the free demo. This is a space simulation game with some objectives. I failed the first main objective and had to restart from the beginning so I didn't go forward. I just didn't have time to redo. My comments about it: For a VR game: Realistic thruster controls and physics. Some movements in space may cause sickness for some. It is not that bad but possible depending on how sensitive you are. First two objectives are repairing things. First task you did with your hands alone. The second objective you had to do with a repair ship. The controls were doable but took some time to get used to as always. I failed the mission because I didn't quite know what to do exactly to repair the array. For the demo a hold hand walkthrough (arrows or something) option should be there for us dummies. If you crash the ship into stuff you lose health. If you take too long the timer runs out and mission failed. Start over again. Graphics are ok but could be a whole lot better. It is time for us to demand good clear graphics. Developers have enough examples now to make this happen. Unity: Well I hate Unity games in general even though I am stuck playing some I am interested in. Overall for free the experience was ok. I think most will enjoy experiencing how hard it must be to control stuff in open space. The movies and TV make it look like a piece of cake. But when interacting with other objects in space it is no walk in the park. This is a try for sure for space lovers and sim lovers. 5/10 would be my now rating.
Floating in a spacesuit matt damon style awesome! Flying a spaceship without the ability to roll not so awesome. Feedback for the developers: - controls in the repair ship are terrible would often lose "grip" on the controls. Surely, there are better control mechanisms than a panel. Virtual Joystick, controller tilt, etc - no ability to roll the repair ship :( - unable to manipulate objects with the repair ships arms. This completely ruined the challenge for me as I wanted to have to precisely place objects in outer space. Instead there is this "snap" effect which left me thoroughly confused as to what I needed to do with said object. Overall pretty good demo. Definitely worth checking out.
The game would not start at all despite uninstall / reinstall nor verification. Continuously got an error saying could not load files from SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Star Rangers VR Demo/SRVR_Data/Mono/mono.dll" (error = 126).
Using Oculus Rift, and it's not supported, so can't complain. Mostly works. Thrusters took a little getting used to because they work just by touching the triggers. Messed me up at first because I thought they were always on as I rest my fingers on the triggers. Grip works on the first repair objective but not the tools on your suit to repair it. Rolling would be more easy once the thruster controls are actually tied to the trigger press instead of just touch because clicking the sticks without brushing up against the triggers was difficult. Minor graphical issue on the ship you start out on arround the communications looking array, green outline around it. Neat to try out. Worth a try even for Oculus, can't do much but just zooming along was fun. Only tried for 20 minutes and wont try more for a while unless I hear from Devs for troubleshooting, willing to work with you though xD
only complaint will be the controlls of the little ship maybe use the touch pad as thrust control would be an idea but games looks good

Oculus controls are all wonky, and the whole "palm thrust" thing is awkward. The grip buttons won't work at all. Also, the palm thrust keeps firing without me commanding it to, so it's almost impossible to go the way I want. Needs more conventional controls, somethinglike using the right stick to aim and the left stick to fire the suit's thrusters. Unplayable in its current state, since I can't activate the repair tool. ** Update ** So I got past the initial problem. I'm using a Vive now... and I can't figure out how to do the "replace the struts" mission. The game gives no help on how to remove the old struts or insall the new ones. For an intro mission, you need a little more guidance on how to get things done. Also... on the ship... I'm back to the same general issue I had with the suit's controls. The virtual touch controls in the ship are awkward to use. Using the Vive or Oculus touch controllers would make a lot more sense in this situation: right stick for pitch/yaw, left stick for thrust/roll.
