It's mid. The fun part is only the farm in your ship and having your own drone do the farming. If you want explanation for everything then this game isn't for you because tbh, I don't even know what tf I am doing and why and how are stuffs working. I don't know sht man, I don't understand, the game doesn't even try to let you understand sht. I only know that it's cheap af but I am getting my money back
Star Farmer, developed and published by Tinker Town, is a vibrant and unconventional roguelite that mixes the frantic energy of bullet-heaven combat with the gentler rhythms of farming and cosmic exploration. At first glance, the combination seems almost contradictory—how can a game about harvesting alien plants coexist with swarms of enemies and high-intensity action? Yet Star Farmer leans fully into this mixture, crafting an experience that feels both chaotic and cozy, both fast-paced and steadily rewarding. It is a game built around the idea of growth: growth of your farm, your warlock’s abilities, and your mastery of an ever-evolving galaxy filled with colorful landscapes, unusual flora, and unpredictable threats. The core gameplay loop is structured around short, escalating runs that take you from planet to planet, gathering resources and confronting waves of hostile creatures. Combat adheres to the bullet-heaven style—auto-firing weapons, relentless enemies, and a constant need for movement and positioning—but the game tempers this intensity with moments of calm as you harvest seeds and collect exotic plant specimens. These elements are not optional side activities; they feed directly into your progression. Each seed collected during a run carries the potential for future growth, and every encounter in the field becomes an opportunity to cultivate your expanding toolkit. This duality between destruction and cultivation gives Star Farmer a unique rhythm, one where every dangerous expedition promises rewards that carry forward into the next journey. The farming layer is surprisingly robust, offering a tangible sense of long-term progression that many roguelites gloss over. When you return to your ship—a charmingly cluttered hub that grows with you—you can plant the seeds you’ve collected, harvest their products, and use them to unlock upgrades or trade with wandering merchants. Selling produce for credits becomes a secondary economy, fueling enhancements to both your character and your ship’s functionality. The farm itself becomes a persistent reflection of your accomplishments, a visual record of your growth that contrasts meaningfully with the chaos of each combat run. The satisfaction of watching your small collection of alien plants flourish mirrors the steady power curve you develop as you unlock new abilities and refine your builds. Star Farmer also shines in its breadth of customization. With well over 200 unique powers available during runs, player builds can vary wildly in style—aggressive, defensive, harvesting-centric, mobility-focused, or anything in between. This abundance of powers ensures that each run presents new combinations and synergies to explore. Furniture, decorative items, and companion creatures discovered throughout the cosmos add another dimension to personalization, letting you tailor your living space or bring helpful allies into battle. These small touches make the game world feel lived-in and distinct, enhancing the sense of ownership as your warlock evolves from a fledgling explorer into a cosmic powerhouse. The visual direction complements this spirit of playful exploration. Its top-down perspective is clean and colorful, emphasizing readability even during hectic combat sequences. Alien worlds are rendered in bright palettes that blur the line between whimsical fantasy and old-school sci-fi, while plant designs are vibrant enough to make harvesting feel visually rewarding. Sound design follows suit, delivering upbeat tracks during combat and gentler ambient tones during farming or ship-based activities. Star Farmer is not a technical showpiece, but it commits fully to its aesthetic identity, resulting in a charming and cohesive presentation. Although narrative is not the game’s main priority, Star Farmer does sprinkle bits of lore and mystery throughout its cosmos. Hints about a dead planet, cryptic relics, and ambient storytelling lend the game a faint sense of cosmic melancholy beneath its cheerful exterior. These narrative fragments deepen the world without forcing story beats on the player, rewarding exploration with quiet revelations rather than lengthy exposition. Reception from players has been consistently positive, and it’s easy to see why. The game’s combination of high-energy combat and relaxed farming creates a satisfying loop that appeals to fans of both roguelites and simulation titles. The sense of progression is strong, the variety of powers and discoveries keeps each run fresh, and the playful aesthetic makes even failure feel lighthearted. Critiques tend to focus on onboarding and clarity—new players may find the early hours slightly opaque—but once the systems click, the experience becomes both accessible and compelling. Ultimately, Star Farmer succeeds by embracing its hybrid nature rather than diluting it. It is a game about carving life out of chaos, about nurturing growth while blasting through alien hordes, about finding beauty and rhythm in a galaxy that constantly shifts beneath your feet. Whether you come for the action, the farming, the exploration, or simply the joy of discovering new powers and plants, Star Farmer offers a rich, imaginative journey across the stars—one that rewards curiosity, experimentation, and persistence with every run. Rating: 7/10
cute, fun, fantastic jams
good chill satisfying game that you can sink hours into whilst feeling like you're progressing just enough to keep going feels like some of the powers are a bit unbalanced it took me 20 runs to beat level 2, and then I back to back did level 2 and 3 so there's definitely some balancing issues.. I even saw the map get smaller the last two planets of level 3 and I cleared them both after not clearing any of the previous 8 planets on level 3... weird soundtrack is great but quite a few times now another track starts playing without pausing the last one so i have two tracks playing simultaneously and have to mute the game also one of my "buddies" pushed me out of range of the UI when about to launch a run, so the UI closed but i can't move had to alt + f4 very good for the price
https://youtu.be/KabkXnEZ51k Dev's : Tinker Town // Ed : Tinker Town ˜”*°•.˜”*°• STAR FARMER: WARLOCK OF THE UNIVERSE •°*”˜.•°*”˜ #StarFarmer #keymailer I received a free review copy of this product from https://www.keymailer.co 🌱 Le jeu propose de récolter des graines sur des planètes aléatoires, de cultiver les cultiver et de vendre le résultat et de faire évoluer les compétences, donc avoir de l'argent pour débloquer de nouveaux espaces de récoltes pour plus de plantes ou monstres... 💖 Jeu type Rogue Like, Farm, vente, combats.
Wenige Upgrades vorhanden.
