This game can be fun with friends if you never played speedrunners or only casually played it with friends. But on your own, if you played speedrunners for hundreds of hours solo before, you won't enjoy it, because *for competitive play*, its watered down version of speedrunners and it seems like you never get to go as fast as speedrunners. So I didn't enjoy it and i dont recommend it if you are looking for something like that. Also in the last month total of like 10 people played the game. Its impossible to find a match on your own. You have to bring friends. https://steamdb.info/app/4191250/charts/#1m This review is just a heads up. It wouldn't be fair to give "not recommended" review because the game just wasn't what i expected. Buy it if its what you are looking for.
What a great fast and frantic game. Movement feels really smooth, and the power-ups add a nice bit of strategy without slowing things down. Clockout mode is a brilliant twist on the racing formula and keeps things tense in the best way. I especially enjoy the multiplayer matches against my wife, those get surprisingly competitive… All in all It’s just a ton of fun!
As a spiritual successor to speedrunners this game puts a wonderful knew twist on the loved mechanics. Well worth playing, looking forward to how this shapes up in the future.
Esse lixo não tem ninguem jogando online e nem tem remote play, se acha mesmo que eu vou falar pra um amigo comprar isso?
Absolutely phenomenal. I wont lie, you can definitely tell it's an early access title but once you get into it realize there's way more to do than you thought with what's already here. STUFF FOR EVERYONE (including people who haven't played Speedrunners): The game features a large open world, where "race tracks" are created within. You have a grappling hook and It boost meter that you can fill by going over certain platforms. It might sound limiting but most of the skill in this game comes from carrying momentum. Falling from a far height and landing on a slope (or grappling) will send you flying forward because your downward momentum will carry into it. Slopes on the ceilings can be used to bonk your head and send you flying downward, and remember grappling while flying downward will send you flying forward. Gaining and maintaining speed is borderline euphoric, and mastering courses is more satisfying than drinking water after running a mile. There is honestly a lack of content, but is there really? Even if I didn't get it on sale for $9.50, it's literally $12 and I've already put 15 hours into the game and don't plan on stopping. Plus there's a full cosmetics system where every cosmetic item is unlockable via playing the game. Other than the courses you can create and share your own by placing down a start/finish line, and there's a daily challenge made by the developers every single day which is honestly where a lot of my playtime is going, competing with members of the Discord server to try and make it onto the leaderboard. Challenges are special because unlike courses where It's mostly a linear track with borders blocking you from just leaving, challenges only have a start and finish line with no barriers placed whatsoever. This means that sometimes the obvious route isn't the fastest, you have to play around to find new routes and strategies. Some of the courses are less linear than others and still have some of this "try to find the best path" energy but the challenges bring it to a whole new level If you're already interested enough to read all of this get the damn game trust me it's worth it FOR SPEEDRUNNERS PLAYERS: This game is blown me away so much that I'm not even playing SR2 anymore. The grappling hook now feels like a proper physics-based system, You can grapple and then hold the opposite direction to slow down and when you grapple all the way around and object It actually wraps around the object instead of clipping through it. This means if you grapple an object very far away but then the rope hits an object right above your head It changes your arc from very wide to very tight quickly as hell. You also can't just tap a grappling hook on the ceiling to send yourself flying downwards or change direction instantly anymore, all of this type of interaction has been replaced by grappling the FLOOR. You can grapple any surface including the floor and walls, the only surface you can't are coated in leaves (and are not common at all). Something I thought was a cool addition at first quickly be game the backbone of this game, and the primary reason I enjoy it so much more than speedrunners. The skill expression here seems far far higher, what initially felt like a casual version of SR quickly became one of the most cutthroat games I've ever played. Also the street race aesthetic is a nice change from the corny comic book style of SR (I'm not saying the aesthetic is corny I'm saying the game is supposed to be corny, it's part of its charm) Also you customize a character now If you're already interested enough to read all of this get the damn game trust me it's worth it 2.
Sprint City is a highly disappointing Speedrunners clone that offers significantly fewer features and customization options. It does, however, introduce casual additions like the wall climb, but it completely undermine the core momentum-based swinging mechanics by removing the precision and strict timing required to swing efficiently. it destroys the skill gap that made its predecessor challenging and replaces with a dull, automated chore.
Great game!
Great game if you like the first speedrunners. IMO better than speedrunners 2 so far.
At the moment it feels kind of lacking with things to do. The overall city is fun to run around in and do the kiosk runs on your own. The overall feel is there. If you enjoyed the first Speedrunners Youll probably enjoy this. really the game just needs more, more levels and more people playing. The core gameplay is there and is fun as it ever was.
