Great graphics, like halo before it was gay.

Fun
I was so hyped for Splitgate 2 after playing Splitgate 1, it was a very fun game with a very dedicated player base and me and my friends loved playing the No Portal Mode as it was nice to take a break from all the portal madness. Was Splitgate 1 a perfect game? No, was it a fun game, absolutely. When the Beta got announced for Splitgate 2 was was excited to play it, the trailer looked good and the game looked very polished compared to the first entry. I played the Beta, it was ok, waited for launch, played some more, then i started to see the cracks i overlooked in my excitement during the beta. The class system was a very weird and head scratching decision for me, felt more like a Call of Duty feature and didn't really fit with the Splitgate vibe, and the abilities were just god awful. A lot of other bad decision made but i looked past it and forward to there presentation at the Summer Game Fest of 2025, yes you know the one I'm talking about, were the CEO Ian walked out there with a 'Make FPS Great Again' hat and talked down Call of Duty, said how there game was different from the generic FPS bs we have been playing for years, then showed off a Battle Royal while Imagine Dragons played in the trailer. This was the start of the downfall for 1047 Games and Splitgate 2, the BR in my opinion was terrible and not anything any of us really asked for. Big Streamers got paid to play it like TimTheTatman and others just for them to not play it afterward and most people followed suit. Not to mention the Multi Team mode wasn't even available since beta (don't quote me on that i just didn't see it at all) not to mention the TERRIBLE store bundles at launch and this game died quick. Even the Arena Reloaded couldn't save this game and the devs abandoned it for Empulse which brings us to today. As of 8/26/2026 the devs announced that they will be shutting down servers for Splitgate 2 and Empulse, going peer to peer and not developing anything further. on September 3rd or a week from me typing this, these games will be dead which they already are since both games barely have 500 player combined on Steam. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement, I really saw so much potential in this game especially after the relaunch but these devs were just way too quick to jump ship to Empulse which lasted only 71 days. This isn't the end of 1047 Games as they say there just shifting focus but honestly I cant bring myself to trust these devs anymore and all the good faith they had with the First game is gone in my opinion, I'll probably still play whatever they put out as long as its free or cheap but I want to think all the devs did can be a warning tale to up and coming dev teams how not to manage a studio but the said truth is that they will be forgotten in the garbage bin of time and most likely fade into obscurity which is sad to say seeing how good there first game was.
genuently good game evry one shold try it :)
Je ne comprends pas pourquoi ce jeu n'a pas plus de succès, juste incroyable :)
Dommage il y a plus grand monde
This was my first fps game and one of the first games i played on my pc i loved the portal mechanics sad to see it go. Thanks for the fun ride splitgate and goodbye
