[h2]Warning - Asset Flip![/h2] "Splash Road" is an asset flip of [url=https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/templates/packs/car-crash-traffic-racer-2d-car-hyper-casual-game-194093]Car Crash Traffic Racer[/url] by Game HUB. So far, so problematic. However, the "developer" here has actually modified the template he purchased (or so I hope) to work on PC. You see, the original asset pack is made for mobile and features two "pedal" buttons to press on-screen. Obviously that's not going to work on PC so the "developer" rewrote the controls - poorly. You can move your car with WASD but because the "developer's" added code polls the keyboard way too often so the car doesn't just move one lane left or right but all of them in one go. Even worse - when you try to accelerate or brake (W or S keys) you'll end up at the top/bottom of the screen instead of one space in front/back of the car. But there's more: because the original asset was made for vertical mobile screens it would have large black borders to the left and right of the road. Instead of bothering to make something proper, like maybe grassland or trees or whatever is usually next to roads they simpy put a [url=https://pixabay.com/de/photos/papier-alt-textur-pergament-1074131/]paper texture[/url] in the background - and it isn't seamless. Also they removed the instructions screen because the instructions were for mobile and they were too lazy to write their own ... What they [i]didn't[/i] do? Improve upon the template in any way, shape or form. It's the most basic endless runner you can think of and quite frankly wouldn't even be acceptable on mobile. Asset flips like this shouldn't be on the Steam platform. The only interest the "developer" has is making money off unsuspecting players who don't know the game will never see any form of improvement as the "developer" is already preparing his next asset flip.
