I played it for about half an hour and got bored, the other reviews are somewhat suspicious to say the least, only one of them had played the game for more than an hour
5.5/10 Both myself and my co-op partner had never played a MOBA, and we thought that this title would give us an opportunity to familiarize ourselves with the genre under lower PvE stakes. I appreciate the attempt by developer Adam Thompson to create something new and different. Players can pick one of four characters, each of which has two unique special abilities. Each character also has a standard grouping ability and clearing ability, although the shape differs by character. For instance, one character might shoot out what looks like a 20 x 5 grid of bubbles. As it approaches enemies, they are pulled into its formation. You can follow it up with an attack that is made up of a 20 x 5 grid of projectiles to clear the enemies. I preferred to play with Dredrick, who has an ability to knock away swarming enemies and a chain lightning attack. My partner preferred Zica, who can one-shot certain towers and drop a cluster bomb. Although we enjoyed our time with the game at first and liked the music and some of the humorous dialogue, we began to grow fatigued after a few levels. Each level plays more or less identically, with later levels involving more bad platforming and spongier enemies. The movement within the game never began to feel good for me – I just couldn’t get used to moving my character with right click. Although perhaps this would clash with the game’s MOBA roots, I think I’d prefer moving with left click or WASD and using the number keys up top to activate each ability. The spongier enemies became tiresome, as you never gain any new abilities and your abilities never get any stronger. The game attempts to explain away your inability to upgrade through the game’s “story,” but this almost served to emphasize the problem. I actually felt while playing the game that I was a villain, and the paltry attempts to humanize Dredrick’s crew fell very flat for me. Although we decided to finish the game, playing two levels per sitting before moving on to something more engaging, I can’t recommend it. Between the static abilities, repetitive levels, poor movement, and weak humor, you’re just better off spending your time elsewhere.
I personally was a play tester for this game in its beta stage, and I enjoyed playing it even then. I especially am tremendously fond of the level design, especially in the later levels as they really involve the player and become more diverse as you press on. As well, the enemies themselves all seem simple, but operate and play differently so you can be sure to expect a good variety of gameplay experiences. All in all, it's definitely a must play for friends who are looking to jump into a funny, yet intense action oriented hack and slash game I'd recommend to anyone!
Easy to play! the combat system feels so good to play, and each playable character has its own skills! Totally recommended to play, more if you have friends to play with!
Space Viking Raiders is a really fun Co-Op hack and slash game. In my video I give the first level, the tutorial, a shot in single player mode. This game is really made for multiplayer but the single player gives you a great look at the game play. Basically it's great fun! Hoards of enemies and devastating powers make for great destruction and fun. It has a short campaign of about 3-5 hours or endless mode both with three difficulty levels. Take a look and see what you thing..... https://youtu.be/sFj9ba4fYqE Thanks for watching, please like, subscribe and comment.

Loved messing around with this game the comedy is funny and who does love hacking and slashing large swarms of enemies to pieces.
If you want to see a video format of this review, then check it out here. Space Viking Raiders Review Have you ever wanted to blow Sh*t up? Then, my friends, this might be a game for you. Space Viking Raiders is an interesting concept. It takes elements from MOBA games and combines it with the hack and slash genre. You use the Q, W, E and R Keys for your special abilities and you use your mouse buttons to attack and move. You can also play with a controller and even rebind the buttons. Sadly with the mouse and keyboard, you can't rebind your keys. That can be a big issue for a lot of people and I hope that can get patched in soon. You play as one of the four Space Vikings, Tommy K, Zica, Athelia, and Dredrick. In solo play I found that Tommy K and Zica were quite powerful while the other two didn't feel like that. As you play through these levels you interact with a couple of other civilizations and these conversation don’t tend to end well. I feel like the voice acting and humor are the highlights of the game. Each character's personality is pretty different from each other and half of the time you can't tell if Space Viking Raiders are all dense or just don't give a damn. When it comes to the gameplay itself, I found that the hits were satisfying and each character had fun abilities to mess around with. There are some indie games that tend to have that lack of sound when hitting something. This gives you a meaty sound while the other explosions sound like they are ACTUALLY hurting your foes. You travel across different levels and while it is fun to destroy bases and waves of enemies, you’ll eventually notice that the levels repeat. There are only three themes presented here and the game even makes fun of itself in some dialog due to limitations. I really wish that there was an extra world or two to give it more variety. Just to give the player more of an incentive to come back and play through these levels. It would have been cool to have some side objectives since the levels themselves are huge. I could imagine having fun challenges within the game and maybe with each one you could unlock a character skin. Even something simple as a palette swap for each character would be neat to aim for. Space Viking Raiders took me around 3 ½ to complete for the first time. I played online for a couple of hours and in my time I only had one instance of the game lagging. Something important to note is that there isn’t text chat or voice chat in the game. I can see this being a problem if you want to communicate since the legendary difficulty can prove to be challenging. At the very least, text chat should be supported so you can know what to do with your team or if you want to try to go for a certain achievement. When it comes to the overall package and price of the game, I like to think about it carefully to tell you if it is worth the price. The game is priced at $20 USD and II feel like that is a little too much. $15 would be a much fairer price in my opinion due to the repetitive levels and lack of features. I still think if you are able to find this game on sale and want to spend an afternoon by yourself or what I recommend playing with at least another person, then yeah, go for it. It has its pros as well as flaws that need to be worked on, but for future installments. I do think the series is headed in the right direction.
