As the store trailer reveals, Space Ship DRIFT is a sluggish, uncooperative racer built on what appears to be easily accessible assets. With only one ship, one track, and no customization or modes to choose from, you'll see everything it has to offer in a single lap.
Though the game tantalizes you with the option to choose your track and racer, in reality, you have no choice: There's only one of each. Once you're in a race, you'll immediately realize that there's no tutorial or onscreen controls, and no settings for key rebinding to reveal what they are. Using the WASD keys, you can accelerate the ship somewhat, but it moves at the pace of a steamroller, and handles like one, too: Veering easily off track and even spinning the opposite direction, the ship is a chore to pilot. Drifting generates a score bonus and awards "drift coins," but these have no value, since there's nowhere to redeem them. The race is a single lap, and completing it grants you the game's only achievement. It's one thing to make a bad game, but it's another to make a lazy one. There's no apparent effort to put any actual content into the game, even though there appear to be placeholders for more features. Everything about it screams asset flip, and I'd consider it at risk for a ban wave if Valve ever reviews it in its present state. Unless it gets a massive overhaul, don't bother with this one. Achievement Hunters: Complete one lap for 100%. ~2 min
Warning - Asset Flip!
Well, for the most part at least. This "game" is based on Extreme Drift by Mehdi Rabee but instead of improving the pretty bad foundation HEDE made it all worse. Instead of drifting with cars we're "drifting" with a space ship. Yes, just one, and there's just on track as well. Obviously space ships don't really drift, especially not on a race track but these technical issues don't worry the "developer" in the slightest. They just pasted a big old space ship (another asset I'm sure) into a terrible drifting "simulation", added some space-y assets to make the track look like it's in space and there you go - instant game. The result is as fun as watching paint dry. The space ship doesn't move very fast - of course not, it's just a different model replacing the original starter car - and drifts horribly. Controls are as clunky as in the original asset. After one lap around space the "fun" is fortunately already over. While you get rewarded with "Drift Coins" you can't do jack all with them as HEDE didn't bother to add more ships or tracks to unlock with them. Maybe even they noticed that his "game" wasn't all that hot and just threw the towel. Didn't prevent them from trying to sell it for almost $10 though. That didn't work out too well it seems so it went straight into trash bundles. If you were looking for a fun time look elsewhere - this ain't it, just another nasty asset flip/cash grab from serial offender HEDE.
For achievement hunters, yes. As a game, no. Easy Achievements, 100% / 2min. Just finish one track.

Space Ship DRIFT is an independent arcade racing game developed and published by Hede that takes a familiar drifting formula and transports it into a futuristic setting. Rather than focusing on realistic motorsport or complex simulation mechanics, the game embraces an accessible approach where players pilot spacecraft across winding tracks suspended in space. Its concept is refreshingly straightforward, emphasizing skillful drifting, precision handling, and the satisfaction of achieving increasingly higher scores. By stripping away unnecessary complications, the game delivers an experience that is easy to understand while still offering enough challenge to reward players willing to refine their technique. The heart of the experience lies in mastering the drifting system. Every course is designed to encourage players to slide smoothly through corners while maintaining momentum and control. Long, consistent drifts generate higher scores, making every turn an opportunity to maximize performance rather than simply reach the finish line first. The controls reward patience and practice, as learning the ideal entry angles and balancing speed with stability becomes essential for climbing the online leaderboards. This emphasis on mechanical skill gives the game lasting appeal for players who enjoy improving their abilities through repetition and gradually shaving valuable seconds or earning higher point totals with each attempt. The futuristic presentation complements the gameplay without overwhelming it. The tracks are set against the backdrop of outer space, giving races a distinctive atmosphere that separates the game from traditional road or circuit racers. While the visual design remains relatively minimalist, it succeeds in reinforcing the science fiction theme through sleek spacecraft, glowing environments, and clean track layouts. The focus remains firmly on visibility and responsive gameplay, allowing players to concentrate on perfecting their drifts rather than navigating visually cluttered environments. Although those expecting expansive space exploration or cinematic storytelling may find the presentation modest, it effectively supports the arcade-oriented nature of the game. One of the game's strengths is its commitment to a focused gameplay loop. There are no elaborate progression systems or excessive distractions pulling attention away from the central mechanic. Instead, players are encouraged to replay tracks, improve their scores, unlock achievements, and compete on Steam leaderboards. This design philosophy makes the game ideal for short play sessions, where each run presents another opportunity to refine driving lines and develop greater consistency. At the same time, the limited variety means that players seeking numerous game modes, extensive customization, or a deep career progression may eventually find the content somewhat repetitive after extended play. The game's lightweight technical requirements also make it widely accessible across multiple operating systems, allowing a broad range of players to enjoy the experience without demanding high-end hardware. Its smooth performance and straightforward design reflect the developer's intention to create a focused arcade racer that values responsiveness over spectacle. The addition of achievements and competitive score tracking further enhances replay value, particularly for players who enjoy chasing personal records or comparing their performance against others. Overall, Space Ship DRIFT succeeds by delivering exactly what it promises: an arcade-style drifting game built around fast, skill-driven gameplay in a futuristic setting. Its focused mechanics, accessible controls, and satisfying score-based progression make it an enjoyable choice for players who appreciate precision driving and repeated mastery of challenging courses. While its minimalist content and narrow gameplay scope may not satisfy those looking for a feature-rich racing experience, it remains an entertaining indie title that understands its strengths and executes them effectively.
