Space Hat is an adrenaline-fueled, fast-paced FPS game that combines intense combat with well thought out platforming sequences. In this futuristic sci-fi world, the player assumes the role of a cyber bounty hunter equipped with a special hat that grants the power of teleportation.

Really fun and well executed mechanics come together to make this one of the best free, Doom style shooters I’ve played on Steam. The gameplay feels tight and satisfying, and with a fully fledged release featuring a larger arsenal, a more fleshed out story, and proper multiplayer or coop this could easily become a standout hit.

Heavily recommend this small and passionate student project. Not only does the name Space Hat just sound really fun to say in a sentence, but the gameplay itself is also super solid. I really liked how this game forces you to use your abilities and treat each encounter like a puzzle instead of just being a shooter game. The only things I didn't quite like were the art style and the difficulty of the game in certain areas. The game is tough, but its worth it
Warning: AI Slop This game is partially or completely made with talentless, soulless AI generated content.
"Space Hat" is a kinda generic looking Unreal kitbash, a first person shooter where you run around as the comically named space bounty hunter "Space Hat" (seriously) and you shoot stuff. Okay. The game carries a teleportation gimmick. As mentioned, this features really godawful, "wrong" sounding AI slop voice acting. AI slop sticks out like a sore thumb... and it comes across as insulting. This game looks a lot better visually than the actual gameplay. It could be the developer purchased high-end assets (no proof of that), or somehow managed to create great-looking assets while delivering a mediocre game, in this case it could be either... but there's no hard proof this is an asset flip. But as always, ethics of asset flipping aside (whether this is one or not), what matters is the quality of the game, and this has all the same low qualities that we expect from asset flip shovelware. In line with my theory this might be an asset flip, the gameplay is really janky and unpolished. Yes, we do love FPS games on Steam and FPS represents one of the largest and most popular game genres today. But while this one looks tolerable, it plays badly, the encounter balance is far too hard, and the teleportation gimmick doesn't work consistently the way you would expect it to. Let's talk about price and the value this represents for us gamers. Most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's usually some kind of monetisation, from nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, to any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at only 9 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? What's the verdict? This one scores a "nope". While it won't necessarily cost you money, the time and hard drive space it requires could be better invested in one of the many higher quality alternatives on Steam. The use of AI slop is a direct insult to gamers and real, ethical content creators and artists everywhere. AI models are trained on copyrighted intellectual property without permission from the owners. Using AI slop in a published product should be seen as supporting these copyright violations.

I enjoyed the game for it's gameplay, albeit it did have a glitch that appeared once where the hat vanished when it hit a gate. I played though the gamer once, and I have nothing too negative to say. The game is fun, but can be frustrating if you don't know what you are doing, and the game's tutorials could have been compiled down to a single level so that it could fix that issue. But otherwise, I would implore for the reader of this review to play the game :D
Очень советую попробовать всем любителям экшена
