Meng Games released Space Dogfight in the heart of 2020, the height of the pandemic. Does the decline in humanity and the downfall of man explain why Space Dogfight turned out to be the game that it is? I had to find out. I booted up my PC, because I need-need some Space Dogfight. Does this game support flight sticks? I had hoped so, but the answer is no. The game told me to go funk myself in Korean, which I realize is a theme in these games. The UI is mostly in Korean too, so you will need a translator if you wish to make it into the action. I had to hire one on Fiverr, which means this game really wasn't the cheap asking price of 40 Yen, but rather $35!
I was starting to feel this game by the time I got to the "Option" menu. I was excited and ready to serve my empire as the Top Gun. Sadly, my left speaker blew out as the sound of Half Life barrels exploding over and over and over was just too much for my headphones. Funk it, I said. I'm not going to let the pressure get to me. I went on to set the high score, check me out on the leaderboards, 2000k!
Then, I realized something. I hate this game. Not only does it not support individuals with disabilities, it doesn't support gamepads, or flight sticks. How am I supposed to crush the enemy if I'm stuck using my mouse? There are no real controls for the ships otherwise. Only on occasion can you adjust the speed of the ship, but mostly it's in the hands of God. After I dominated everyone's high scores, I realized the only thing that happened is that I wasted 10 minutes and blew out my headphones. Meng Games has a reputation, and I should've avoided this game. I hope that they can capture greatness in the future...
