Very good game, it's dispatch but with characters that have more depth and genuinely funny dialogues that arent just "cram in as much edgy jokes as possible" It also has a new game plus that offers a very different experience that actually makes sense instead of being a boring reset The only downside is that the game has some nasty pitfalls that are quasi impossible to see coming the first time Like :
the fact that critical failures can oneshot all of the knights regardless of armor level
Or :
the fact that some hard quests can appear with a timer of 1 when the knights are gone
And also the secret ending requirement is a massive dickmove that forced me to look up a soluce because
you have to do the exact thing the game EXPLICITLY tells you not to do : use the demonic power. Nowhere is it written that new game + doesnt count as using the demonic power even tho it's literally accessed through the demon. I did an almost perfect run for nothing (5 ~ 8 hours in a work week) because i expected Gideon to do something when i got to 9/10 counties without using the power... The fact that some characters are also quite obviously demons added to the confusion, at first i believed i lost because i accepted Dulahan wich is quite obviously a demon wich i'm not supposed to work with. Same with Edith, "does she count as a demon yet?" "no?" Speaking of Edith, i accidently cursed her because i sent her to fight Victoria. Victoria is described as a demon (tho the characteristic is called HALF-demon) AND when you assign the quest to Edith she doesnt have the message telling you "Ha ha the sword is laughing" indicating that the quest would be unsafe. That's because the knights never complain about the "important" quests... This unfortunate combination made it basically one hell of a pitfall It's also a shame because it took me a long time to access the joys of newgame+ because i thought it would ruin my run...
Though even with that, i still enjoyed sinking 35h into the game i rate it a "Slayy"/20
An amazing game, to put it lightly. I waited months for this game to come out, and bought it day 1. It is quite unique in what it does, and I really enjoy how different choices can give you different knights, as well as the rewind time mechanic. The music, character design and art is amazing, as well as the game possessing humour and a distinct cheekiness throughout. The romance aspect is great, as well as the pressure to make difficult decisions and the inclusion of time limits for quests adding an enjoyable bit of stress. In some cases, the game can be a tad bit confusing, but the demon in the cellar can always give you a second chance - which I would recommend using for your first playthrough. I have had 2 playthroughs, one of which I have completed with a peaceful ending. Another aspect to the game is the usage of already known information that you can use after rewinding time - helping you complete quests, gain certain knights, etc - which is an aspect to the game I really love. The game has a lot of content and is startingly cheap for the price. The development team also make sure to smooth out the bugs regularly, in which I have experienced very few, and the updates eradicated the one I experienced. Heavily, heavily recommended - if you enjoy management simulators, visual novels, and a slight dispatch feel to sending knights out - this is definitely the game for you.
top game
I´m in love with this game, the characters, the gameplay, the story and the artstyle.
This game is awesome! Time flew by as I wsa trying again and again to get to the exact point where I wanted the story to be. And also... there's more to it than meets the eye.
The game provides dispatcher & story-rich gameplay with a very stunning art style. I love that certain choices have very logical consequences, and some just surprise you. In my 50 hours of this game, I still found new plotlines and possibilities. All in all, a 10/10 game :)
