Sounds of Her Love 2

J’avais choisi de soutenir le premier opus parce qu’il proposait, malgré leur nombre limité, quelques choix au joueur. Ici, *Sound of Love 2* est assumé comme un roman cinétique : je le savais avant de commencer, donc je m’attendais surtout à un scénario fort et marquant. Malheureusement, l’histoire reste très prévisible et manque d’aspérités. On suit une fille timide qui finit par faire une prestation musicale devant sa famille et son copain. Et c’est tout. Il n’y a pas vraiment de surprise, de tension ou d’enjeu qui permette au récit de laisser une impression durable. Côté gameplay, il n’y a rien à faire en dehors de cliquer pour faire avancer le texte. Même un petit QTE pendant la prestation finale aurait pu apporter un peu de rythme, impliquer davantage le joueur et rendre ce moment plus marquant. Les graphismes restent sympathiques, et le voice acting est heureusement moins crispant que dans le premier opus. Il y a de bonnes idées et une intention sincère, mais cela manque cruellement de gameplay et de choix. Je ne recommande donc pas le jeu pour ces deux raisons. Sans choix, sans interaction et sans véritable mécanique de jeu, j’ai davantage eu l’impression de lire une courte histoire que de jouer à un jeu. _____________________________ I chose to support the first installment because, even though there were only a few, it still offered the player some choices. Here, *Sound of Love 2* is clearly presented as a kinetic novel. I knew that before playing, so I was mainly expecting a strong and memorable story. Unfortunately, the story feels very predictable and lacks depth. We follow a shy girl who ends up performing music in front of her family and her boyfriend. And that is it. There are no real surprises, tension, or stakes to make the story truly memorable. In terms of gameplay, there is nothing to do besides clicking through the text until the game ends. Even a small QTE during the final performance could have added some rhythm, involved the player more, and made that moment feel more impactful. The visuals are still pleasant, and the voice acting is thankfully less grating than in the first game. There are some good ideas and a sincere intention behind it, but it desperately lacks gameplay and meaningful choices. For those two reasons, I cannot recommend it. Without choices, interaction, or any way to influence what happens, I did not feel like I was playing a game. I simply felt like I was reading a short illustrated story.
