Soul Delivery is a short and adorable story-rich 2D adventure that is in some aspects reminiscent of Cloudpunk. Although the two games are essentially very distinct, belong to different genres and have a notable quality gap between them, they do share a similar cyberpunk-futuristic environment with a city of neon lights, robots and human-electronic networks serving as their setting, and both stories revolve around the idea of fulfilling one or more deliveries. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3019588939 Soul Delivery plays as a side-scroller adventure in which you can have ample dialogues with the NPCs, complete fetch quests by picking up objects from the game world and then delivering them to their respective NPCs, or explore its wonderful universe to gather a few collectibles. The game is delivered in chapter-size chunks of an hour each. Currently available to play are only the first two chapters (taking around 1.5h - 2h to complete if the dialogues are not skipped). A third chapter is planned to be released in the future as a paid DLC. The chapters are non-linear and so far they have rather unrelated stories, but these will likely be linked together in the upcoming chapter which will hopefully also provide a conclusion to the story. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3019588963 Soul Delivery is a one-man project, thus the game is not perfect. I haven’t encountered any game-breaking bugs, but some smaller edge areas can appear unfinished (nothing too bothersome though). The conversations often have different branches consistent with the choices picked, but they ultimately don’t have any effect on the game progression or any impact on the story. The (solo) developer freely admits that English is not their native language, and there are some awkward sentences and a couple of typos. Although still fully intelligible, the second chapter especially requires some intensive proofreading. The collectibles are also not yet implemented for this chapter. One could say that it is still a work in progress and an Early Access tag would be more appropriate, yet at the moment the game isn’t marked as such. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3019589055 Soul Delivery is a very cute and enjoyable experience and the current issues are rather minor. However, it’s very unfortunate that buyers of the full game are left with a cliffhanger (because only the first two chapters are provided) and that experiencing the full story will require additional expenses. It would also be great if Steam achievements were implemented in the future. Taking the price into consideration, it's a decently made narrative experience, mostly just talking to characters and backtracking with some very basic platforming, about 70 to 80 minutes, seemingly with a few forks in the story, granted the game is not complete so there is no point for me to experiment with it now. Aside from those optional tasks, the game does not have much in terms of optional navigation, I would like to see maybe some collectibles or more world-building in the future, putting some hidden platforming sections with something to collect might go a long way. The game is a bit of an eye candy despite not having a ton to work with, it actually does not have that many unique objects or models, but the dev managed to smartly recycle some of the characters under different circumstances, which is not always ideal, but in this case, I think it works well enough, I think the color-coding changes were a smart decision, it feels like the game has more unique areas than it would otherwise. A few decent music choices, I think the game was very chill, not sure if was made for the game or not, but I also feel like it could focus a bit more on the atmosphere and do more sound manipulation between the areas, put more focus on the weather effects. The story so far is interesting enough, it has a nice mystery going for it, although some of the dialogue was difficult to follow, and it's not really an English thing, just very time-consuming, even when I would skip text sometimes it took like 50 seconds just for one character, I think the game could use better pacing. The game is told from the perspective of robots and humans, plus the mysterious package that you are meant to deliver to an unknown receiver, presumably to uncover the conflict between AI and humans. As far as the puzzles and platforming gameplay, it does not have any significant gameplay elements, you get some power-ups like pushing things and hovering, but the game does not utilize them in any challenging capacity, perhaps in the later chapters. I thought the change between different characters was a neat idea, hopefully, we see more of that mechanism in the future, to control different robots perhaps.
Pros:
(+) I thought the game looked very nice, it's obvious that the dev recycled a lot of the content, but it's recycled smartly, it feels like it has more unique locations than it actually does, so for an indie dev, if you going to get resourceful, this is not a bad way of doing it. (+) While I do wish the dialogue was a bit more playful and not so lengthy, the narrative was not bad so far, I like the little mystery it has going for it with the mysterious package and perspectives of different characters. It seems like there are a few narrative forks as well. (+) Decent sense of atmosphere, I still think you could focus a bit more on individual sounds in different locations, try to give every location a more unique vibe to it, but it works well enough.
Feedback:
Exploration - even though you put a few forks into the choices, it still feels like the exploration is just linear backtracking, I think if you could sandwich the game with a bit more optional interactions and collection content, it would make the game feel more complete. Maybe some hidden areas with more platforming or puzzles, collect something to unlock different trinkets and have a few hidden characters for world-building. In general, I think you are not utilizing platforming as much as you should, give it more purpose since you already have hovering and box pushing which didn't really have much to do. Other than that, I think the music choices you made are decent, but I still think you could give the areas a bit more life in terms of sound effects, make the weather stand out more from the background, and have various sounds happening in different locations. Maybe even give different robots unique sound effects for the dialogue. On a side note, maybe experiment with adding a more prominent sound for character movement as well. Overall Thoughts: (not rating it, technically not a complete experience yet) I don't really have any issues with the game, it's perfectly fine for a narrative game, one thing I will say, the devs with more experience will do exactly what you doing, but they will also populate the world with more optional content, more optional interactions, and world-building. You have a lot of backtracking, but it's mostly there for the story, so you not taking advantage of rewarding curiosity and having the actual feel of exploring the town on your own terms, just add some optional areas, more platforming with things to collect, it would elevate this serviceable game to a potentially great game, I think.
A very gentle and relaxing sci-fi adventure that looks good and has an intriguing story but don't expect any challenge.
A delivery robot has a special package to deliver, and it is so secret that not even the robot is allowed to know the recipient or their address. Good luck with that, yet the industrious little robot tries its best to locate the correct destination for the parcel by asking other robots in this AI inhabited neon-soaked city. Along the way, the robot realizes he has amnesia, as basic things he should know, he can no longer recall. Something is wrong here, and the mysterious package starts throwing up quandaries about what happened to the Humans who were once their masters. Soul Delivery is a narrative adventure with very light platforming and puzzle elements with a slow and relaxed feel. Eventually, there will be three parts to the story, with only two parts released currently. The third part is to be released at a later date as paid DLC, and the story presently ends on a cliffhanger. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3002795924
🤔Overall Impressions🤔

The first thing you notice about Soul Delivery is its gorgeous looks and its vibrant neon sci-fi feel. Constantly bombarded by rain and set exclusively at night, the lights sparkle as the AI inhabitants go about their business. The mellow music and the silky visuals make this a very relaxing experience. Game play is also very chilled with only light elements of platforming and puzzle solving, with an easy boss fight thrown in at the end of chapter two. The backbone of the game is it story, and that involves talking to various robots in search of the parcel’s owner. Dialogues are always very brief and I find it hard to believe that this is by any means a choose your own adventure. I haven’t seen much evidence of that in my play through. Most conversations only initiate a choice of two options, and even then, you can usually select both in your discussion. That aside, the story is quite intriguing and I am interested in finding out what happens, but I am not a fan of games that have chapters, even more so when you have to pay for the final installment. There are noticeable grammatical errors in dialogue exchanges but they still make sense and don’t detract too much from the enjoyment of the story as it unfolds.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3002795868
🕹️Gameplay🕹️
The majority of game play involves fetch quests, with some light platforming and puzzle elements. Conversing with other robots usually sends you on a mission to find something that they want before scratching your back. You know how it works! Occasionally, this can take you inside buildings or you must find paths to get to your destination, which are often locked or broken. Special items like rocket boots can be acquired to jump long distances and certain robots need to be found to fix broken lifts or grant permission for you to enter certain areas. The cityscape isn’t that large and mostly quests are straightforward and relatively easy, but there is scope to get lost in the museum which has a labyrinth of doors and rooms and no map to assist. This is the only stage of the game where you will experience any kind of difficulty, as the majority of the game is a stress-free environment and will appeal to people who want a chilled game with a little difficulty here and there. There are items to collect along the way but often these items are unused and I am not sure whether these become relevant in chapter three or I have missed the opportunity to use them. I felt like I had explored every avenue possible in my two-hour play through. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3002795990
Issues
The game offers full controller support yet dialogue choices are only represented by keyboard shortcuts. Using a game pad works in selecting the options, but you just have to experiment with what button does what! The same goes for the menu options. I could not change any of my options using the game pad. Dialogues often have grammatical errors or spelling mistakes, but the developer freely admits there are issues here, but everything made sense, just in a way that was noticeably quirky, but didn’t affect my enjoyment. After chapter two concluded, the game froze and I had to reboot and play the final boss fight again.
🍳Conclusion🍳

Soul Delivery is a charming and relaxing game with a gentle story about human and AI interaction. Although this doesn’t amount to anything too deep or meaningful, there is an intriguing story which threatens to explode in chapter three. If you are a fan of fetch quests, and some light puzzling and platforming, then there is enjoyment to be had here, especially if you appreciate a sci-fi environment and story, but mostly I would describe this as a short, relaxing, and chilled adventure that is family friendly. Sadly its not working for me on Steam Deck. I've tried multiple Protons, but still nothing.
A short game that, unfortunately, leaves you with little to experience. Future chapters and updates promise to expand the game. The main character in chapter 1 is a robot. Since it doesn’t know anything, you discover the world as you play. As soon as you wake up, you're told to deliver a mysterious package to an unidentified target. Because you don't receive any directional clues, you set out and talk to everyone you meet. The game’s world is made out of several small screens that represent districts. Because it doesn't take long to walk from one end to the other, the scale is relatively small. Additionally, there are a few robots on each screen. If you’re into collectibles, you can search around for items that don’t add anything meaningful to the overall experience. They’re simply another piece to the game’s lore. You notice right away that there are no humans around, just robots. When you talk to them, they either share brief tidbits about themselves or ask you to bring them something. You have two options for responses in the majority of conversations, but I'm not convinced there's a huge difference between them. There’s some backtracking, so it’s a good thing the world is small. These games can't avoid having you go to one side of the town only to discover that you need to walk back to the other side. Fortunately, the chapter only takes about one hour to complete, so it's not too bad. In chapter 2, where you play as a human girl, the gameplay turns to platforming. It also adds more screens and people, but drops backtracking. Collectibles are another thing missing, but they will show up in future updates. This chapter felt much shorter because I didn’t have any trouble with the easy platforming sections. Excellent music and art play a huge role in the experience. It is distinctive enough to set it apart from other titles that cover related futuristic subjects. The second chapter felt out of place, which is the only complaint I have. There is no significant mystery that would draw me in, and it does not follow the conclusion of Chapter 1. I am aware that this is a work in progress, though.
Full Game Walkthrough - https://youtu.be/qhwXuG7DvHo A MUST PLAY GAME FOR EVERYONE !!! Games like this is why I love Indie Games ❤ At first I thought this looks like a regular normal platformer game with some basic story to it but boy I was soo wrong , this is a Sci - Fi masterpiece when it comes to story telling and the level of thought provoking ideas this single dev has put into this game , This game makes you question your reality on so many levels . Absurdly great game , cant wait for more episodes as it only has 2 episodes but its a freaking steal for the price and for the value it offers you . I dont want to give any spoilers so I wont talk about story , all I will say is that you will thank me once you play this . Brilliant Masterpiece , This deserves a Netflix series of its own Rating - 1000/1000
I waited for this game since year 2021 and it was a very short demo on another platform. I am happy to see the game is progressing. But if possible if you are in another location with the girl, to save there. I have to do all over again when you play the girl and i arrived a few days ago at the location where the big museum is. Which I dont like repeating from the beginning again. The game is very beautiful, nice story (interesting), and cant wait for more chapter to buy! Screenshot of the game will be uploaded soon on www.pictureswithvulpoaica.com
Pros - Looks gorgeous - Well written dialog - Interesting world building and story - Decent soundtrack - Good performance - Very simple but surprisingly engaging game-play, some very basic platforming and some light inventory based puzzles Cons - Very short - Only chapters 1, 2 are available, game ends without resolving major plot points. Overall really enjoyed it. Looking forward to further chapters and seeing the completion of the story. Hopefully that will happen.
