Songs of Syx is a fantasy city-builder with vast battles simulating thousands of citizens and soldiers. Start off as a small village and build, scheme, and fight your way towards a mighty empire. The mechanics are deep and true to life, where tiny events can spiral into the collapse of kingdoms.

Where do i begin... -We're basically looking at a modded out version of rimworld. -Lesser graphics to compensate for there being more possible to the base management/ plebian management. -Endless hours of building to only degrade as resource upkeep grows exponentially and unnecessary. -Getting to the point of having/ managing an army is beyond underwhelming for how long it takes to reach that point. -Some decent in game guide stuff, but mostly too vague and leaves much to be self taught. -Plebians do not behave far away from throne, even with workstation set to priority and occupation maxed, with haulers included. Overall, it's not terrible, but i've already grown bored and dont see myself getting back into it for a good while. The game is definitely far from finished and I'm glad i at least got it on sale.
It's essentially a ruined, larger scale, Rimworld-y colony management. Ruined because the abysmal job output, the horribly unbalanced citizens' goods consumption and their absurd demands of standard of living take all the fun out of it. You either minmax or die. A real shame because the vibes are there, but they are absolutely not worth all these headaches. Edit: also all the snoring and the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ quickly become annoying, a more detailed control on sound effects is desperately needed.
Genuinely an absolute masterclass in citybuilding. I cannot praise it highly enough and I love my little warmongering bug people so much. There is a learning curve for sure and I’ve only scratched the surface at the hours I’ve put in but with the update out the day I am posting this that will probably double, and then triple. Anyway bye I’m going to feed my cute lil bug babies captured enemy soldiers uwu
Dev is the type of man to cry about politics in games then unironically make a "Lives matter" joke in his game.
I bought this one morning while out of work thinking I'm gonna spend a nice day building a city. I remember seeing the sun come up and going "wait, wasn't the sun already up?!". I honestly had no idea how almost 24 hours have passed.
Might be one of the greatest pieces of art ever made by the human species.
