About
Twenty-Three years before the horrifying events chronicled in "Solomon's Keep," the Wizard's college first suspected they might have a problem with one of their new graduates. A battle mage was dispatched to put an end to this young "Solomon Dark" before he could grow in power...
* * *
In Solomon's Boneyard, you will face a young Solomon Dark just as he begins his rise! As an esteemed junion member of the Wizarding College's faculty, simply confront the young would-be dark lord in whatever cemetary he's desecrating today! It's an easy job, and you surely won't need the full extent of the game's gigantic magic system, nor the help of the game's astounding collection of unique magic items to accomplish it. Simply go in, confront the dark lord, dispatch him, and return the university for the dinner party and accolades due to a junior faculty member completing an entry-level task.
If through bad luck or mischance you fail to take down the low-talent startup necromancer, no worries, the university always has more mages who are eager to add to their own reputation by doing what you couldn't do...

Solomon's Boneyard is a twin stick survival shooter. The goal of the game is to survive long enough to deter the up and coming necromancer Solomon Dark and get him to retreat to his secluded keep and stop terrorizing the provinces.
During play, you will select a wizard with the skillset you like, then it's off to the graveyard to test your mettle against enormous hordes of skeletons... And more. As you play, you gain experience to level up your character, and can find various items and accoutrements that can persist between games to give each succeeding wizard a better chance!
Master more than 60 skills and spells, find hundreds of stat-boosting items, and even unlock new spells and helpers as the story unfolds. But beware, Solomon Dark is more powerful than anyone expects him to be...

This game had me by the thumbs on my ipod touch. Little did I know, this was the start of my roguelike/roguelite addiction. The OG vampire survivor's if you will.
The game has some serious issues with screen flashing. As a result, when I exit the game the UI is still faintly visible on my monitor for almost 10 minutes. That's the main reason I'm bailing on this one, but it is also a very harsh experience even without that: Plenty of my first runs were ended by what felt like impossible situations that I had no way to survive. It's a difficult game, but at the start you aren't given access to necessary tools like the item vendor that will allow you to start your runs with a little more power. I wanted to dip into the original Vampire Survivors which is Boneyard, but this PC port appears to be the wrong way to try to experience it.
Ah haw haw haw haw. YOU'RE DEAD!!!! Ha ha ha ha ha.
I have been playing this since its release on IOS, it was easily one of my favorite games up there with BTD4. This game brought back the magic of that original release plus more. The only thing I am not the biggest fan of is the randomized wizards after the original 4 die and your spells continuously change up. I liked the old system of unlocking specialized wizards. It would have been cool to have that system with the new "buy your spells" system in this release. All in all, 10/10 game.
It's back and better than ever! Enter the Boneyard once more and overcome the challenge. It is updated to be a more modern roguelite while retaining its arcade spirit. Better yet, it works wonderfully on the Deck so far!
I love the changes to the game, the gradual additions of charms, additional spells, scavenged items and game modifiers. I also love that this is a true roguelike now, you die and your character is gone for good. The only issue I have found is that the controller button icons will disappear from the UI and menus. Other than that I am loving this game!
Fun nostalgic port of an old 2010 mobile game I played on my itouch. Just as good as the last time I played! Holds up surprisingly well to other similar contemporaries. It's a very casual action roguelike that has you eventually unlocking abilities and buffs to make your runs a bit easier. The gameplay loop is good and simple, select a mage, kill skellingtons, pick up gold, level up, choose a build. On the go this is a great game. Runs typically are about 10 to 20min long with the occasional longer run. The game itself runs very nicely on the steam deck and takes very very little GPU usage. On a full charge you could play this game on the steam deck for about 6hrs on battery. It controls very well and honestly I have no complaints other than the difficulty sometimes being an issue. The UI is a bit large, as this originally was a mobile game, and I'd love to have the ability to set a custom scale modifier for it. I greatly appreciate the usage of steam deck button faces for input prompts. If you're looking for a great, casual-on-the-go ARPG roguelike then I'd recommend this game to you. $8 for this is a great price. Again, this runs beautifully on the steam deck

As somebody that loved the OG game that I played on IPod touch as a pre-teen, I don't think this version is worth it to anybody that doesnt have deep nostaliga for the game. It has frequent crashes, frequent frame drops especially with the crows and imps, and 9/10 deaths are to things that feel extremely unfair. Eg, the invincibility circles that last 30s+, the constant skulls that automatically destroy energy shield, a few deaths were just marked as "Bad luck".. whatever that means? It has a special place in my heart as the first roguelike in my life, before the roguelike craze even took off. But without a lot more polish it's difficult to recommend to people
Hard to believe this classic is back, and improved no less. I don't game much on phones these days but I put a TON of hours into this waaay back. The game still plays very close to the OG, slowdowns and all. This might seem unoptimised but I find it quite beneficial when there are literal clouds of arrows and magical projectiles coming at me. There are a quite a few unlocks that don't take too awful long to open up. If you're a fan of the genre that Vampire Survivors brought back into the spotlight then this may be worth checking out.
