This is actually a really good game, but there are some serious problems with the game that make it a good game and not a great game. There is only one save slot so you can only run one team. Other problems include players getting injured from training before you actually do the training. Players complaining that they are not playing when they are suspended. Well you would be playing if you weren't suspended so sit down and shut up. There are a few minor bugs here and there that really are not a big deal. I do believe if they fix these problems this can be a really great game. 8/10 rating Please follow me at One on One Gamers. As a curator I am looking for help from you wonderful people on steam to make my reviews better. Follow, comment, support, win games.
Soccer Manager 2018
I reviewed the 2015 version of the game here Soccer Manager 2015 Review . The game did not solve many of the problems but IT IS better than the 2015 version.
Transfer window and scouting
Transfers are a pain in this game. You cannot view attributes of players before you scout them. That means you have to spend real life money in order to properly scout your transfers.Another problem is,the ratings seem off for tons of players..this means you cannot just blindly transfer a player who is regarded as good in other games. When you send scouts, usually you won't find decent players worth buying. It just feels like a Pay2Win system. The same problem's from the 2015 version still haunt this game.Club's won't make transfers at all.Eventually they will buy players from your club but that's it.Small clubs will suddenly have money to acquire star players.Season after season the same teams and it becomes easier and easier to dominate the league.
Player growth and youth
The game allows you to train only 4 drills every 7 days which makes it hard for you to develop players the way you like. And unless you spend real life money to unlock specific drills,it will take entire seasons to unlock them by playing. Youth academy usually dishes out sub-par players.
TL;DR
Even if this version is better, the core problems are still not fixed. It still feels like a Facebook/browser game. But if you want to play a casual Football Manager you can enjoy playing this for a few seasons.

Great free game, huge improvement on last year's game with new facilities and stadium building.
Its a good game considering the fact that it is free , I dont really see the Pay to Play concept in this so thats also a good sign. However there are some features that could be added to make the game better for example make a chart where it shows your placings for every week ( For eg ,m Week 1 you were 5th , then Week 2 you loss and dropped to 10th) something like that. Also adding a History section where you can check which position you ended up for that particular season is quite common in most Football Manager game and Im not sure why this game doesnt have that. overall i am having lots of fun managing my club in this game and especially when you get to the Seasons where every player IRL has retired and you get to try out younger , made-up and newer players which only exist in the game and having train them to good players is satisfying to watch.
1. The games STOP at half tim eand full time during a corner is in mid air and when your team is clearly mounting an attack. 2. The game is completky random, one game you're winning 5-0 to Barcelona and the next you lose to Watford with the same team and tactics just one game later. 3.Small teams make the most un-believable teams and have a bigger tranfer budget that you when you take over a huge team. 4. Injuries and players moral makes no sense and player get put out for 5 months for no reason. 5.Cup games are so boring because the game always makes it a draw until extra time then penalties in which every shootout goes to something like 5-7 and amazing player shoot into row z seat 40.000 on a pen. 6. ♥♥♥♥ players can perform really well, the players overall rating had gone for no reason and their stats pay no real indication to how well they will perform. 7. Amazing players seem to play like ♥♥♥♥ when in real life they play like gods and have an insame Goal/match scoring record. THIS GAME CAN BE GOOD IF IT WASNT SO RANDOM AND STUPID.
In short: This is utter crap. You were warned. Read further in extreme detail, if you want to know why: Loaning System is broken: - Only useless players can be loaned from other teams. - You can't select extra payment to the team to improve your chances of a successful loan. Player Trading System is broken: - With a small team the players don't want to join you, especially when you are in a low position on the board. - It is nearly impossible to get top end players, even if you pay double their price. - You are nearly stuck with what you got, even if you sit on endless money, you are not allowed to buy who you need. Player Position and Formation System is broken: - Lots of players have very limited positions, making lots of players nearly useless - Your formation is nearly impossible to change because of strong punishment on not compatible positions Youth System is broken: - You get players of 40-50 skill, when you are on a team of 80-92, are you kidding me? - No spending tons of points on your youth system isn't viable and it doesn't make much of a difference. Training System is broken: - Without spending points on training, it is virtually non-existent. - Idiot cap on how many players can be improved per category FORCES you to have as small team as possible - Useless youth players will SUCK all training up, forcing you to SACK them INSTANTLY - Players will have their skills deteriorate faster than a 90 year old with Alzheimer's disease, making training as a mandatory skill maintenance tool for existing players - Pace of the game is so slow, that you would need weeks of gaming to have any young player to mature to the level of an acceptable substitute, at that point your existing old players have already decimated years ago from dementia Team strategy settings are unclear and broken: - There is no detailed description on how team strategy will affect your team's overall performance and so what players you need to boost your overall team success, this basically killing of any strategic play Balance is broken: - A noname bottom feeder team can incinerate you on a bad day, also killing off (injuring) your core playmaker for 3 months (basically ending your tournament) - If your player is tired from a previous match, it will be non-existent/dead, it will not produce a single contribution to the game, might as well be shot like an injured horse. No joke, they need walking stick and binoculars, you might think that you should rather send the water boy on the pitch. - If your team performed bad in a match, there is no indication why did that happen and you can't improve on your strategy to make your team better. Was it bad day/luck? Was it tiredness? Was it the team settings? Was it a particular player having a bad form? Did a substitution break the team cohesion? Player skills are broken: - Skills have no description, you don't know what they do or why they are good, why should you pick them. - You can't see relevant skills of players when you make decisions about them. (Ex: Making changes to the team composition during match.) Forcing you to remember/write down all of their values to make proper decisions. Point Spending System is broken: - Spending a few points on one thing is completely useless, you need to unlock complete sets to have meaningful value out of them. Forcing you to a linear path. - Skill tree is completely linear, if you spend points on anything else than training, your team will deteriorate very quickly to the point that it is useless. Pay to win scheme is broken: - Things you can buy only apply to your current savegame state, but you can only have one savegame in total and you can only play hardcore, meaning that you can loose what you paid for anytime. (No re-load after failure.) Visual representation of gameplay is broken: - The players are glued together with an invisible grid, all moving with the ball, looks horribly unnatural team movement. - Some actions just look ridiculously unrealistic. (Ex: When the referee prevents a shot on target by ending the half. Your player doing a back-pass in front of an empty goal. Etc.) All in all, there is no aspect of this game that is done at a decent level, no wonder why the bad rating. But yay, it is free to play!
Well this game is ♥♥♥♥. I been playing manager games for years now and it's tactical changes it's just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I couldn't turn a game around and I often lose point to weak teams. Btw, don't get me started by the facts about the injuries... WTF man. Every match my players get injured. I might as well just watch an Arsenal match. WTF man...
- plenty of player parameters, but they does not seem to have any influence on the match (winger with poor finishing value scored 4 goals in one game) - no match statistics for the players (only goals and assists) - match engine does not give any insight into players performance - match engine seems to be almost completely random - poorly made interface (f.e. to view the details of your players you have to open the details of each of them separately) - even I can do better than that: SMFC Online - lack of atmosphere - micropayment options that ruin the experience with the game + it's free (well, kind of free)
Game rating; 2/10 There are so many things left out/not done right that its not worth putting money into this, you can buy one of the best manager games for 8 euro's with all whitles and bells namly football manager 2012 (its so much beter then this awfull unfinished crap). Still the same bad game as the prior ones, Huge/grave injuries all the time, red cards almost every match, every single click it asks you to put money into it. (i have no problem with putting money into a game if its worth it, here hell no). Want your players, facilities to get beter, buy tokens with real money to improve them, LOL. This game forces you to use real money to buy morale boosts, every single player in my team loses morale even those that play all matches, y are they unhappy??, i dont kno either, the game dosnt tell you y, other then to buy morale boosters its a real scamm. SCOUTING; Is crap, you dont even see all the players stats or potential, even after scouting players you will have no idea what there stats are, there are no search options that refine your search for a certain type of player, want a playmaker?, well good luck on finding one causse theres no way to seach for one. TRANSFER MARKET; Its dead, every team keeps all its players, and they will become gods. (at the age of 32+ they have insanly strong stats no degredation at all, unless for your players ofcourse). No team ever makes a move on one off your players unless they are transfer listed. TRAINING; Players do NOT advance from them selfs (no natural proggression or from playing matches). You dont pick what you train on who, your defenders can lvl up finishing and your strikers can lvl up defending... GG, oh, dont play with certain players?, they still can steal points from players that play all the time. All the players in AI teams will only increse (they never become weaker) in stats even at 35+ years, its so stupidly unrealistic. Got a real good prospect?, well theres a big chance he wil never get a stat up, and keep the players at a minimum, the players in your reserve team can steal points aswell for some odd stupid reason... (they should have there own training). Players dont get beter from playing btw, only if they get picked in the training to advance in a stat, 25 to 30 players? only 5 chances to advance in a stat. YOUTH PLAYERS; The ones you get are so crapy and usless its not worth investing points into the system, and the fact that they can steal training points from your better players is even worse, fire them asap. (the game dose not even have youth teams btw). It still lacks the option to make your own formation, opp keeper is still a superhuman wall, yough players still 17 to 20 years insted of 14 to 16 (no youth teams, no min 17/21 team, no staff meetings), not worth it and no improvment watsoever. Your players make so stupid mistakes you want to shoot them; keeper goes to the side and shoots the ball to own goal, defenders give the ball to the opp, strikers allone at the goal shoot backwards... 0% depth, no better sponsors/income, no increase to fan income, finance is so unreal its not even funny, a club that plays europa league hase a budget of 2 mill (WTF). Restart the game 100 times, if the game says NO you will not win the match..... (scripted af) By far the worst manager game/series out there. (go buy football manager 2012 or 2014, youl thank me later). Price money winning league; 2 mill winning CL; 9.3 mill LOL.
Ortaokulda ailemi internetten bir şey almaya zar zor ikna edebiliyordum. Haliyle fm alamayınca 300 saat gömmüşüm. Oyunu benim kadar oynayan 2- 3 manyak görmek beni mutlu etti.
