Played On: HTC Vive You may have already guessed from the title that Smash Party is a game about smashing stuff; pure and simple, it's based off Titmouse's event, after all. You're in a small enclosure, you grab a bat, and you just start wailing away on cups, plates, vases, televisions, toilets, and shelves. If you hold your bat up to the sky (or over your head at least), the doob-smoking moon transforms your weapon into a powerful axe, and you can unleash a devastating blow for one hit before having to do it again. There's a catch though, you're on a time limit. The art direction is absolutely incredible for anyone that loves the work of Ed Roth; the dude behind RatFink and multiple other psychedelic cartoon drawings. He's also the one that animated the music video in Beavis and Butthead Do America. Everything is done in bright, neon colors, all while a thundering metal instrumental is playing in the background. It sets the perfect tone for violent, mayhem-driven destruction, and it's all incredibly immersive. You'll definitely need to be careful as you're flailing about, especially if you barely meet the minimum 2mx1.5m room-scale requirement; my 2mx2m space didn't feel big enough. Without a doubt, Smash Party is the most fun that I've had within a 6 minute time span on a free game in VR. It used up a lot of my energy, and got a lot of my anger out in just two short rounds. It's too bad that the developer, Viacom NEXT, have seemingly abandoned the project. Their last update only added global leaderboards, and that was in January of 2017. More objects, arenas, weapons, and modes would be a welcome addition, and more content overall could turn this small free game in to a profitable $10 CAD or less title. Either way, Smash Party is the best destructive VR game to date, you should check it out if you want to relieve some stress. Rating: 5.0/5.0 - An astonishing achievement, this game must be played. "Smash Party VR" a VR tech demo from Viacom of all people, and the failure of this game tells us all exactly why TV companies need to stay in their own damn lane. It's also abandoned, they dumped it quickly onto Steam Early Access so they could abuse Early Access, then they stopped updating it and haven't touched this for about 7 years. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. It's an abandoned VR tech demo. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, that's nothing.

Cool game)

A fun free demo-sized game for when you first get a VR headset and looking to try things out. You probably wont bother with it once you have a few high quality VR games in your library. But for free download, you don't have much to lose.

I almost broke my controller
