A great choose your own adventure with interesting setting and plot involving time travelling, ancient civilizations, gods and feathered monkeys. Different from usual COG releases. The story is well paced and progresses interestingly despite long gameplay length. The character stats are a lot, but it is written well giving players multiple choices in most of situation. So if players play to their character strength, quite difficult to fail stat checks. The main group aside from MC, consists lot of different and interesting character that engages me. Kudos to author for writing a good CYOA consisting of clear plot, interesting characters, unique settings and balanced stat checks. Recommended to anyone looking for good CYOA that is well worth the price. 9/10 Will become rich by selling ancient gods, again.
This is a really great choose your own adventure. Real flaws exist though. For example, sevaral times in my first playthrough there have been options which have nothing to do with what I've chosen and the path my character is on. They are sort-of spoilers, because I can see how other choices could have gotten to these outcomes, but I basically learn new (spoiler for different path) information from the possible choices I have, which is nonsense. Choosing these options (when I don't necessarily even know what they're talking about) seems to have decent outcomes as well. This also means that I'm now on a path that has nothing to do with decisions I've made previously. The thing is... I still recommend this game if you like choose your own adventure. It really has some depth, but that is betrayed by the (very few but very obvious) flaws. It really is better than most of the games of this type that I've played.
Silverworld is such a unique story with fantastic worldbuilding; a mix of prehistoric fantasy with both tech and magic. There is a lot going on: insect people, robots, time travel, steampunk alternate Byzantine, etc. yet it all makes sense while playing because everything fits naturally into the world rather than feeling like random gimmicks thrown in for the sake of it. The whole thing is bizarre, but in a good way. The replay value is amazing. There are many ways to achieve (or fail) our goals, and choices have impact both on the endings as well as on the paths leading there. The characters are solid, and the writing strikes a nice balance in making them always present and well-defined while keeping the unique world and its challenges at the center of the story. It's definitely a niche setting, and I wasn't sure about it at first, but it's so inventive and well-crafted that I'd honestly recommend it to anyone no matter your preferred genre.
Hands down one of the best games I've ever played - super well rounded, is one of those games where your choices ACTUALLY affect the game a lot. Extremely well written story, romances AND actions scenes were both equally great. Loved how you could choose your own ending and how the success of your missions really relied on your actions. Characters were all three dimensional and each had their own unique flairs, narrative was super complex and lore was epic too. Had me super hooked bro played this all in one sitting. The story leaves a lot of mystery and intrigue to kkeep you on the edge of your seat. 10/10 will replay again soon. If you're hesitating about buying it for any reason, I seriously reccomend you buy it. Hesitation is for losers. You won't regret it.
A long one but a good one. You play a character in an alternate earth who goes back in time and messes things up royally, getting themselves and a few friends stuck in Silverworld and they must fix things and maybe go home. It has a lot of stats to keep track of and many ways to complete your objectives. The characters are interesting and the plot is engaging. It may be a little long but that is fine.
This is my absolute favourite choose your own adventure game of all time The story is great and the characters are likeable, but most importantly, the game actually responds to your choices unlike anything I've ever seen
I re-enacted the Bee Movie and I regret nothing.
So yeah, another one of my steam reviews, disappeared. Which in this particular case really confuses me, as I've left 2 positive reviews for this game already.... just weird right? Anyway, this story is pretty interesting, with some different from your normal play styles in the way you can go through it. Also as far as I know its the only cyoa game where you can romance an insect if thats your thing ; p For myself I found the whole village saving and upgrading part to be the most fun, and enjoyed the village and its people so much i had no desire to get back to the place I came from. Not a new game, but a good one if you havnt played it yet, well worth the money.
Good game, read another review
Kyle, you did a great job writing this story. Every character has their own goals and personalities. It feels like your really in another time. I highly recommend this game for readers who are looking for a new medium for amusement, and can spend 5-6 hours making choices to your hearts content. :)
