Silent Hill f Review: Waifu Unleashed If you went into Silent Hill f expecting psychological dread, rusty metal, fog, or... well, Silent Hill, I have terrible news for you. This game has as much to do with Silent Hill as Mario Kart has to do with professional Formula 1 racing. The Plot & "Horror" You play as a protagonist who looks like she stepped straight out of a high-budget anime H-game. Her entire grand motivation? Fighting her way through monsters to save her boyfriend/f**kbuddy. That’s it. That’s the emotional core driving this narrative. The story is an absolute snoozefest that feels like bad fanfiction, and the "horror" element is virtually non-existent unless you count the sheer horror of realizing how much money you spent on this. Thank GOD my friend gift me this. Gameplay & "Combat" The gameplay is where the real tragedy lies. The combat system is utterly atrocious—clunky, unresponsive, and painfully repetitive. But the absolute highlight (or lowlight) of every encounter is your main character’s physical reaction to swinging a metal pipe. Every single time she takes a swing, she squirts like a broken lawn sprinkler. You aren't playing a survival horror game; you’re playing a bizarre, moisture-heavy waifu simulator where the enemies are just annoying interruptions to her intense physical workout. The Verdict Silent Hill f strips away every single piece of identity the franchise ever built. Fog and atmosphere? Replaced by anime tropes. Psychological terror? Replaced by a boring romance plot. Satisfying survival mechanics? Replaced by terrible combat and bizarrely horny animations. If you want a genuine Silent Hill experience, replay the classics. If you want to watch an anime girl aggressively over-hydrate the scenery while beating monsters with a pipe, then this mess is for you. Otherwise, stay far, far away.
Extremely strong writing and should've been a series of its own, didn't really need to be a Silent Hill game. Big recommend for horror fans.
This is one of the worse games I have ever played honestly. Now I absolutely LOVED the SH2 remake, its one of the few games I've given a perfect score but this... its hard to believe this is the same franchise. The puzzles are boring and completely uninspired, the majority of locations are dull, uninteresting and hardly unsettling, the story is awful with little to no depth, none of the characters are interesting or well developed, why do we care about ANYTHING happening in this story? and the combat... oh buddy, its the most infuriating and unfun part of the game, well lucky for us THERES TONS AND TONS OF COMBAT! This game was so insufferable I actually looked up a guide to see how much longer I had to endure the game about mid way through. Absolutely do not waste your time on this game.
AAA Wannabe Slop
An 80 dollar AAA game that plays and feels like a AAA wannabe. This slop is 10 times worse than indie games made with literally zero budget. It isn't even worth buying on a 50% sale. Models, graphics, and animations are completely jarring and horrible. This whole game screams amateur Unreal Engine 5 project. Character movement feels stiff and clunky. games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Bodycam, tons of other look and move better on a fraction of the budget. They couldn't even fix basic UE5 technical issues like the hideous pixelated ghosting on moving objects. The game is fixed to 30 fps by default and you actually have to manually change it in the settings, huh? All the cutscenes are hard-locked to 30 fps regardless. Who the f#ck made this trash? The camera is literally glued to the character's back. Have they ever heard about basic distancing or balance? They don't even have an fov slider. All you do is run through clustered spaces and listen to a girl panting and making disgusting asmr into your ear the whole time. It's not even a proper Silent Hill game. there is no real psychological horror, just generic action sequences and tired tropes. How are these companies keep getting away with triple A products like this?
i wish steam had a neutral review option because this game definitely has a lot to like about it but it gets so tedious and confusing midway through it that it stopped me from enjoying it
Great job on creating a very eerie environment. Way better than Silent Hill 2 Remake. The enemy design are intricate. Except for the common ventriloquist puppet like enemy. The puzzles are manageable but i still use youtube for guide lol. The graphics are great! I give it 10/10. Scarier than silent hill 2 remake.
Silent Hill f is great! I loved the 60s Japanese setting very much and the atmosphere was really disturbing, just phenomenal stuff. Soundtrack is top notch which was expected as it was composed by Akira Yamaoka. The otherworld in this game is vastly different, it's a dark shrine instead of the classic rusty industrial decaying otherworld. It wasn't bad but I prefer the old one, I didn't really care about the otherworld sections in this game. Monster designs were fantastic as well. I'm a bit bummed that there were no firearms in the game, it's strictly melee only but at least the axe was really satisfying to use. Hinako was a really good protagonist, probably the best protagonist we've gotten since Heather. I liked the story too but my one gripe about this game is that in your first playthrough you can only get one ending and other endings are only available in NG+ which is just stupid. When I think of endings only achievable in a NG+ run I think of joke endings like UFO or Dog ending, not the good or true endings. But yeah other than that I really liked it, It is very different from other Silent Hill games but I don't think that's a bad thing at all.
A coming of age story by a pathetic girl who does not want to grow up, the plot is terrible and the game runs even worse. From the vague story telling requiring you to play multiple play throughs to the slow pace slog that this game makes you go through i could never give this game a good review, the unreal engine 5 slop code makes the game studder and run like trash even though you can't see more than 10 meters Infront of you the whole game, the graphics are not good enough to run this bad not even close. The combat is pretty bad, like Lies of P or Dark Souls but with horrid input lag and unresponsive controls, it's like playing Gears of War 1 but no guns, yeah it's that bad and the "focus" system is just buns, i never even bothered using it outside of when you had to. I also do not understand how this is a Silent Hill game? Usually they start out because of a horrible sin, grief, or trauma, but this is just a dumb little girl who refuses to grow up and it's cringe throughout the whole game. 4/10, the atmosphere is the only thing holding this game together, it was hard to finish, i expected way better from Konami.
