# ★★★★★ — A Masterclass in Psychological Horror **Silent Hill f** doesn't just revive the franchise — it reinvents it, trading the fog-drenched American town for the claustrophobic dread of 1960s rural Japan, and the result is the most unsettling game I've played in years. **Atmosphere: 10/10.** The village of Ebisugaoka is a character in itself. Sunlight-bleached fields twist into rusted, organic nightmarescapes, and the shift between the two worlds is seamless and deeply unnerving. The sound design deserves special praise — distant festival drums, something skittering just out of sight, and a score that knows exactly when to go silent. **Story: 9/10.** Hinako's journey through guilt, family, and small-town secrets is genuinely affecting. The writing trusts the player to piece things together, and the multiple endings give real weight to your choices. **Gameplay: 9/10.** Combat is tense but fair, with a crafting system that keeps resource management meaningful. Exploration rewards curiosity, and the puzzles hit that perfect sweet spot — clever without being obscure. **A few minor quibbles** — some enemy types repeat a bit too often, and one late-game section drags slightly — but they barely register against everything the game does right. Silent Hill f proves that survival horror isn't about jump scares; it's about the slow, creeping dread of something being *wrong*. Konami and the dev team delivered a haunting, beautiful nightmare that honors the series' legacy while fearlessly forging its own identity. **Verdict:** Essential for horror fans. Turn the lights off, put on headphones, and let Ebisugaoka get under your skin.
Played a single playthrough of this game and had a fun experience. It isn't a typical Silent Hill game but it definitely is an interesting take on the series that I truly enjoyed. For many die hard fans it may not be what they are looking for, but as a separate entry that isn't related to the rest of the series I thought the story was enjoyable and the gameplay loop was pretty fun. Some issues I had with the game was the jumpscares and the monsters became less scary and more of an annoying obstacle that I either had to avoid or fight with little consequence. Yes you can increase the difficulty and such but the initial fear I had went away. I truly do feel it turned more into a souls-like towards the end rather than it keeping it's fear factor. Still, I would reccomend playing this game and believe it's worth experiencing yourself.
Good
Pretty good, too much combat in the later parts but still fun
100/90
剧情还可以,战斗机制太拉跨,喜欢恐怖的可以体验下剧情
I enjoyed it, however, there was a few things I wish it could have been improved such as the combat in this game. The combat in this game made it quite frustrating to deal with, it isn’t like Silent Hill 2’s combat or anything, sometimes when I try to fight with my weapon it hits the wall and it absolutely sucks when the map has mostly hallways so it’s really inconvenient. :sob: I also wish the ending when you complete the game first was different, there were so many questions and yes we have to interpret on kinda what happened, but it wasn’t really a nice ending to end the game off with and I don’t feel like redoing the game again to achieve a different ending. I just wish the ending was a bit more enjoyable like the one in Silent Hill 2. Other than that, the game was absolutely beautiful, I loved playing it overall, and I love the characters and how each one of them has their own interesting story about them revolving Hinako. Good game tho, would recommend.
