Siege Hammer 10 из 10
Fun tower defense controlled only by looking around. You'll feel like a general overlooking a battlefield, giving out orders as well as smashing enemies with the Siege Hammer at your disposal. At first it was a bit awkward not using the controllers at all but it doesn't take long getting used to. Colourful graphics makes this suitable to children as well.
Siege Hammer is a free Tower Defence game for VR. It worked on my HTC Vive, Meta Quest 3 via Steam Link, system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Wield the mighty Siege Hammer with four dynamic variations of Blip and construct 4 types of upgradeable towers in order to fend off multiple waves of invaders across 40+ hours of enjoyable gameplay. Could have long play value. Try it, you might like it.

Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
So this game went free to play last April 2018 ... I can see why. It's just a very mediocre Tower Defense without much inspiration as far as the gameplay. A lot of the controls are just point and click, even this Siege hammer that you have on your hand. You think you can hammer it down with your motion controlllers? Nope ... I mean you can but it won't do anything in the game. You actually just laser point and click with your hammer ... seriously. That's pretty much all you do during the game. Point and click TD game. Which is sad because there was a very nice start to the game with nicely done cinematic scenes. But the gameplay is just very drab. There was no challenge at all and it was all pretty mindless. And just getting out of the first level felt very grindey. The animations weren't the best either as you couldn't really see how your defenses were doing & sometimes they looked like they were just sitting there. And there was never any sense that you might be in danger. The hardest part was just staying awake through the whole thing. Rate 5/10. It mean it is free. Could be nice for a mindless time waster.
"Siege Hammer" is a simple lightweight VR minigame, basically a tower defense but the developer felt TD games would be better if they had really awkward VR controls. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. This compares very poorly to other TD games on Steam, and seems to have been made VR exclusive just to try protect the game from failing that comparison by keeping it out of the hands of the majority of gamers. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $15 USD for this (!!!!). Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
You really need to be a towerdefense addict. (And due to the competition in the VR space now it really needs to be on sale.) The concept, story and syle is interesting and different enough from most other tower defense games that it's worth a look for towerdefense addicts. I'm looking forward to seeing what the future brings for this game, and for future titles the devs might use this style. The gameplay starts out really slowly though on the default difficulty. You need to be patient. If you aren't the patient type, and aren't really into towerdefense games then you'll do better to look at other titles.
